@JayminHow is the response of the Channel Guide? In the normal STB, when we open the channel guide it takes a long time to update the program details of each channel when we select a category .e.g. GEC or Lifestyle etc. And sometimes it doesnt come at all (details are blank) unless and until we try navigating to another channel, Is it the same with the HD-DVR.I have seen Tata Sky (normal STB as well as the DVR), it shows the details almost instantly. It would have been nice if D2H would look into this matter....

I am going off right now.....will update on this around by 9:30, or directly then in the wee hours of tomorrow - 1-1:30 AM......vacating the PC, for turning on the TV, coz its Soap time for family!!

About channel guide, i havent used the actual guide that crops up on the press of that button......What i do is, on whichever channel i am, i just press the "i" button and keep going "Rightwards" to see the programs. And in this HD DVR, theres a new feature - on pressing "Favourites" we get that Channel list - u must be knowing it as well. Now in that channel list itself, u have the option of seeing what programs are lined up on a particular channel. As also, set reminders & schedule a recording there itself. To sum up, how it appears in Windows start menu - U place ur cursor on a particular item, and u get a dropdown of it extending to the right.......in the same way on a channel, u have to just press the "Right arrow" button and it shows the programs lined up.Since this feature is there, i never have felt the need to open the Channel Guide.

I am using the same way like you as a workaround (by changing channels using the channel up/down keys and checking whats next using arrow key) But I am more comfortable with the TV guide. I usually use the category to check out what shows/movies are running, in one go, instead of changing the channel individually.

At times, i've even noticed a slight delay while the details of channel appears. First I thought it might be a problem with my stb. But I noticed the same issue in my friend's d2h stb too.

Anyway, I think we'll have to live with it. Hope this may be resolved in their next (?) firmware update as I'm sure if Tata Sky can do it, Videocon can too.

But pls do let me know whether the delay is there or not in the TV guide of the dvr.

Ok, will check in around next 30 mins & put up over here.......

Btw, even i am waiting for Firmware upgrade eagerly. Coz i have some glitches relating to Remote's functioning & few functions of the STB.

Their engineer had come & after doing his routines he figured out that i have missed quite a few upgrades - some version of the firmware, sould be xx.xx.12 or something, whereas mine is xx.xx.7 or something.

Checked up just now......

Its sleeker looking, and pretty quick. Within 2-3 seconds, it fills up the program names of all visible channels & time slots.

Thanks for your revert. I still think 2 - 3 seconds is slower and when we navigate down, it starts refreshing again, which is a pain. In Tata Sky and Tata Sky+ it shows up almost instantly, even while navigating.

Ok, didnt knew that.Btw, got a Firmware upgrade today.......if the load time has reduced, i will let u know.In absence of any further update, u can assume it has remained same.

Got my accessory kit yesterday. Wasn't able to access the DVR functionality. Called CC and they enabled something. Still I am getting the same error as 'Not authorized to use recorder'. Any idea?
