About channel guide, i havent used the actual guide that crops up on the press of that button......
What i do is, on whichever channel i am, i just press the "i" button and keep going "Rightwards" to see the programs.
And in this HD DVR, theres a new feature - on pressing "Favourites" we get that Channel list - u must be knowing it as well.
Now in that channel list itself, u have the option of seeing what programs are lined up on a particular channel. As also, set reminders & schedule a recording there itself.
To sum up, how it appears in
Windows start menu - U place ur cursor on a particular item, and u get a dropdown of it extending to the right.......in the same way on a channel, u have to just press the "Right arrow" button and it shows the programs lined up.
Since this feature is there, i never have felt the need to open the Channel Guide.
I am using the same way like you as a workaround (by changing channels using the channel up/down keys and checking whats next using arrow key) But I am more comfortable with the
TV guide. I usually use the category to check out what shows/movies are running, in one go, instead of changing the channel individually.
At times, i've even noticed a slight delay while the details of channel appears. First I thought it might be a problem with my stb. But I noticed the same issue in my friend's d2h stb too.
Anyway, I think we'll have to live with it. Hope this may be resolved in their next (?) firmware update as I'm sure if
Tata Sky can do it, Videocon can too.
But pls do let me know whether the delay is there or not in the TV guide of the dvr.
