But, do u get HD content?? And the recent buzz - 3D content??And when i say these, i mean expandability as well - today we have 8-10 different channels in True HD. With time, its just gonna increase. Can it support that??If yes, then surely it has future.

With IPTV u can do anything that DTH has to offer. Think of it as your own YOUTUBE... where everything is there in all formats.

IPTV is indeed a future in metros. The moment I think about DTH I see that only benefit it has made to humankind is that it made cable available to each and every corner of india. When I went used to go to some hilly areas,forest areas (ie any remote place) I always used to wonder that how these locals are living here. They dont have any TV. How they can connect to the world?. Then came the DTH. Now when I go to those areas I see dish hanging around their roof. I feel good that how technology has made their life better. I am just waiting for IPTV to mature. You can do wonders when you connect internet to TV. Yes online streaming is the benefit but the real revolution lies in the limitless interactivity it has got !! Think like this. You want to watch the latest blockbuster movie and you dont want to leave you house and go to nearby theatre. Now what? nothing, you just switch on you TV, enter credit card details and boom you are there !! no need to record tv programs. all the content is available online. much much better that current DVR technology in DTH. You can do shopping, host live internet channels,etc etc etc Phew no need to tell more I guess.Am I too optimistic? No I dont think so.

iptv is a revolution....nw i jus browse for the show and can watch it whenever i want...no waiting for the timings of the show
i have got 2 mtnl icontrol iptv connections at home and im happy to have them and its better than dth cuz i hav my personal youtube in my TV

almost all gud channels that i watch can be timeshifted ....even the worldcup....this is way better than recording urself on limited storage like dvr stbs..

no hd content as of yet...but i dnt care as i have 2 CRTs ...no lcd tv fr me so iptv scores

Of course, if it can provide bandwidth for HD content, it will be capable of many, many things, we cant even visualise at times. Till now, my only misconception was - there's not enough bandwidth in Internet, then how can there be nandwidth in IPTV??But thats cleared now thanks to amish.....

Well My days with vidoecon D2h are over, i am using a set top box and i had recharged in advance, so having extra money in my d2h account,cc says i cannot upgrade and i will have to buy a new connection for HD dvr, ie really stupid , when all other operators have a upgrade policy d2h does not,pathetic really

upgrade facility meaning in the same account number or subscriber id u can buy the box so that u do not have to lose the balance if you have recharged in advance! whereas in videcon a new account is created and if any balance in old account will be lost ,ie is bullshit ,for eg i have A Tata Sky Box i recently bought a HD box , my account ID remains the same , only the box is changed also same is there, this is for HD only not dvr, videocon is pathetic, it may be cheap, but the clarity and audio is no where compared to TATA sky and others, and they are not customer friendly.when i called up cc regarding the above issues, i spoke to a lady called geet, she said they do not have HD service in bangalore !!!!! well what do u expect better than this ?
