I have a postpaid connection from Vodafone and I have opted for auto debit from my credit card as there was a offer from VF in April (If you opt for auto debit from Credit Card you would get Rs.50 discount every month for 1 year), Every month as usual they debit my card 2-3 days before the due date. But this month when I saw my bill, I was shocked to see that they have charged 100 bucks as late payment fees.. When I called them up they said, They were to send the bill for clearance on 9th, as it was a sunday and they couldnt do that and 9th was the due date.. And its not a mistake from there side..I threatened them telling them that I would take you to consumer court..then they have reversed the charges..

oh my god! :oi never like any company automatically taking money from my account coz it tends to be buggy.

After this incident I have stopped auto debit.. I did tht bcoz they were giving me rs.50 discount on my bill..I made a mistake though :frown:

airtel too gives a discount on landline bills if paid through ECS. i never dared to subscribe to it.

a lesson well learnt. :)something similar happened with me on airtel.i usually pay the bill before i get it coz the place is pretty far off and i pay whenever i visit the airtel center. this last time, i ignored the bill as i assumed i had already paid for it. some days later i get this call saying that i was late on bill payment. the idiots had changed the billing cycle and some money was left unpaid for some days. and that bill i ignored was for that period :P so well i end up paying late fees when i usually pay the bill before the bill is even generated.

even i get an sms every month to enrol for direct debit to save similarly rs. 50 / month.i know this method of manual bill payment is very boring but rewarding in the long run ;)

I had my Credit card upgraded in July, and I promptly went to the store to update my old Direct debit details. In august they charged my new Credit cardIn September the Morons again tried charging my Old invalid card and failed;meaning I got a fine in my next bill with SMS threatening disconnectionneedless to say after following up with the Nodal officer, I had things reversedVF CC is a bunch of Morons these days

these guys just need to have a functional backend with all these features easily accessible and configurable. that would resolve most of the problems we face today.

I think most of the systems are there although they may all not be accessible to users via MyVF websiteThe problem is really the quality of people they employ.Cheap labour, frequent job hopping, pathetic wages and almost no training in all CC matters is why the CC is in such a bad stateIf VF pays peanuts, they will only retain Monkeys :yahoo:
