Vodafone India: Set up internet / GPRS on iphone - it worked

WORKS!!!!!!!!!!I followed all the steps above very carefully. Not that hard anyways.I have a iPhone 4.It didn't work for me at first but after a quick reboot did it.And I also had to enable that data roaming thing.All my apps work too.Thanks
 
from what i have heard, vodafone grps is highly locked with restricted access to the internet.

I don't understand what u mean by locked.

I am able to use my iPhone apps and stuff on Vodafone GPRS using this "hack"
 
i have an iPhone 4 and my vodafone mobile connect works just fine without doing all this. I am able to use the browser as well as all other apps that require an internet connection.Is this for people using Vodafone Live?
 
Did NOT work for me. Tried all the steps as mentioned. Still says 'Safari is not connected to internet'..???

I have GPRS activated from Vodafone, & I have a postpaid number. What am I doing wrong here???

Hi, I wanted to make sure that all APPS will work on this vodafone LIVE connection ( the one that costs Rs 99/month with 2gb usage) before switching to prepaid from postpaid.Some people here confirming all APPS working, others saying it doesnt work with vodafone live, and that VMC is needed.I can only afford to pay 99/month for a mobile connection, and i require that all apps work. Can you please confirm? Thanks.
 
all apps dont work for me with LIVE APNI use VMC APN and now both VMC & VL are unified in one.I use Rs 95/2GB/30 days and can connect to pc, use www APN on mobile.
 
u mis-read it.. he meant that if u use portalnmms as APN then it wont work but if u use WWW as apn then it will work.surprisingly, charges are same!
 
Damn this is confusing. So finally, all apps do work if you set the apn to "www" instead of "portalnmms" and it still costs the same(i.e. 99p.m. for 2 gb)? no 10p/10kb charges or anything? thanks.
