Edit: You may check the AO code using this link NSDL Tax Information Network (TIN) but the department is stupid, and may invite trouble in your application.

Can you tell in how many days after applying - you got PAN card number allocated? It may take time to reach but in how many days did they allocate you number?

Last month there was news of PAN in 48hrs. I just wanted to know if that has already started.

It took mine 10-12 days to be alloted but it normally takes 15 days. And now I'm waiting to receive the physical PAN card.

Do not expect the PAN to be alloted before 10 days at the very least.
