Yeah, link-removed gives the most accurate search results. But they do block out certain releases if the RIAA or MPAA or the software biggies object. So that's when link-removed.com(weeds out fake releases) and link-removed.com(all the releases are out very fast and no blocking or anything) are helpful. I think in the near future torrents will be all that we guys will have left for free downloads coz even Limewire(which runs on gnutella) is being flooded with fake files by the rec. companies similar to what they did to kazaa. And yeah i never take a chance with FTP's cause most of the time the server goes down in the middle of a download like sanke pointed out. I don't get it why MTNL doesn't let us share stuff via LAN, they'll save a tonne of bandwidth coz ppl d/w the same stuff again and again...and also with all the bogus files floating around..it takes a lot of time searching for the right files..it would be great if we could..setting up a DC++ hub is just too complicated for most.

BitComet (dunno wt i'd do without it....although they could improve the interface a bit and do away with the browser), Azureus(sometimes when i gotta queue downloads) Limewire Pro, eDonkey2000(emule's too slow for me).

you left out another avenue that i believe only me and muttster` here are using.... newsgroups.

for me bit comet sucks!!! .. i dunno.. just dont get more then 10k kB man.. on game torrents. ya music worksfine. .so i just que up all the music i wanna doo. but games justdont happen.. use bit tornado for bigger files then .and ya always get good speeds. hasnt yet happend to me that i havent got sustained 25kB speeds on bit tornado on any torrent.. but even then i usually do music in Bit tornado itself.. i seem to be the only one who uses Bit tornado here .. lol have done music throught ftp`s.... a lot of it actually from link-removed... heehe.. use ares for single files usually.. any trance links guys.. trance torrents and stuff.. if you can... even ft plinks.

Regarding Newsgroups, I don't think i'll be able to convince myself to pay for something i can download for free albeit at lower speeds. So that's that. And regarding BitComet, I hear ya man. Even i don't get more than 10-11 kbps avg on large files, but that i think is largely down to low seed/leecher ratio. Coz i've tried Azureus and that gives even crappier speeds on big files. Never tried Bit tornado actually coz read bad reviews mostly reg the speeds and it being based on python.Anyway the only large files i download are movies and concerts occasionally. Outgrown games man except for a few which i play regularly even now (Fifa and NFS underground 2 and a couple of others). Even music, stopped downloading coz i just listen to internet radio....some great stations out there.

oh bad reviews of bit tornado? lol.well i never really bothered to chk reviews of bit tornado.. but it has always worked for me man.. like now i`m doing a game around 3gb. and on bit comet i wasnt getting speeds of over 13KB :( .. but after porting it to BIt tornado getting above 23KB consistently!!... bit comet realy sucks i guess when it comes to bigger files :P. and tornado`s best thing i like is i can set it to dial/isdn , dsl/slow fast(varying upload speeds) and yet get max download speeds.. that`s really nice for me..btw whats worng with it being based on python?? .. i have been using Bit tornado since day 1 (which was 3 years ago).,.. and i have never had any porblems with it with any file. big or small.. it just maxes out the bandwidth no matter what conneciton i`m on.. dial up or dsl :D ... and with bit tornado i could easily do like 700mb everyiht in 8 hours.. and not een touched 620 on bit comet :P... :(

Ive read all the reviews regarding share/downloading clients. Depending on it, i got a lot of good review on bit comet and torrents as a whole. I was earlier using p2p clients like kazaa lite and imesh lite. The prob with these p2p clients was fake files and viruses. So i tried bit comet but i was a bit disappointed. Not with the client but with torrents. Torrent sites do keep a good collection of files but not that good compared to imesh and kazaa. Coz i was searching using the torrent sites in bit comet's favourites but didnt find any results for the files i was looking for. I found search results in kazaa and imesh but they turned out to be fake files. Im looking for video files such as a movie called one silver dollar, and music videos like thats the way it is - celine dion, separate lives - phil collins and any engelbert humperdinck's music videos. But i didnt find any results. I searched on all those torrent sites using bit comet but 0 results. So does anyone know any good torrent sites where i can get these files(plz check if u get any results of the above mentioned files on those sites)??? I have searched on all those torrent sites that bit comet provides ie.all 12 of them including the famous link-removed, link-removed and link-removed. Thanx.

I think i've used BitTornado before coz the GUI(whick sucks btw) is pretty similar to the official bit torrent client 3.X.X which i started out with when i started using torrents on my reliance dialup.Anyway since i wanted to download a 4gb game (GTA) and chicmagnet saying it works better with big files i downloaded BT 0.37 yesterday, did all the port forwarding, got rid of the yellow light and then did a comparison b/w bitcomet and BT and i was quite surprised to see that BitComet was able to connect to whole lot more peers and seeders than BT and gave me better speeds. And yeah i took a lil time to configure BT properly (capped the uploads to as low as possible which was around 4-5 KBps although u can set it to 3 in BitComet) and got crap speeds with BT. Then i tried incresing the upload speeds but still no difference in speed. And with BitComet i connected to more sources resulting in better speeds. So if there are any particular settings for BT which am missing, it gets a thumbs down from me. So if u got any advice for me chicmagnet pls post it here. Coz even i've noticed in the peers tab in bitcomet (where it shows wt speeds others are downloading at) the ppl with BT have the highest speeds for a particular torrent. So am curious, since it dowsn't even connect to all the peers. And yeah am getting remote connections so not port blocking problem.
