What do you use for downloading

hmm .. just untiick the randomize button below the forwarded ports thingy... tick --> dont' allow mulitple conections/kick ban clients that send you bad data/ enable read,write buffering.. i think these are ticked by default .. dont remember .. also rate setting mode at full, and the default save path should auto-resume(just to make downloading easier for you )the rest is default for me..(ports i have forwarded are (6881-6899) . oh ya... bitcomet is connecting to a lot of peers very quickly... i noticed that and very quickly it starts downloading too.. but then it doesnt max out my bandwidth atall .. ON BT it connects to 1, then second. then third and soo on. takes time to build up the peer base..actually it builds up the peer base first and then start downloading ... for all the latest game torrents i have done .. BT took quite a bit of time to actualy start downloading... as i did the latest stuff . i had peers in excess of 100+ .. and for a couple of em 200!! .. what i`m noticing is that for the latest torrents Bt takes a hell lot of time to start downloading.. yesterday it took a good 20 min to give me the first megabyte of data.. maybe cause i was doing something else on flashget.. but once it started downloading.. it quickly maxed out my bandwidth and stayed that way . and i did around 600mb tonight ...the same game i had tired on bitcomet .. and it started downloading within a minute.. but it never went above 10 ka average. for me.... so started on bit tornado... the thing is . that if your startign a big torrent from 0% then it takes time to start. but once you have done some downloading.. say 5%.. and you shut down. at 8 am. and start it again at 12am... it ressumes from where you left . usually.. .. and it starts downloading quickly too.. and maxes out the bandwidth easily..ohh btw.. do not allocate disk space in BT. .. you might not get good speeds if you already allocate disk space in BT. ..

did anybody tried the new ver of bitcomet .60it has preview functionso u can see the quality of the mov , concerts or vids.i liked it i used to get 20+ in bitlord din't use comet for large files all r about 500mb or less but in that i got good speed

I have installed bit tornado but am still getting speed varying between 1to5 kbps, quite slow. Do i have to do some modification regarding the router {port forwarding]. Give me some clues on how to do it.

Yeah, am using BC 0.60 and the preview function doesn't work well. Avoid using it on large movie files, it just makes the client hang.As regards BT, mate if ur getting a yellow light on the top right of the program u'll require port forwarding. It has been discussed a lot already so try searching the forum, u'll get ur answers. Although even with forwarding it won't give u great speeds from my experience. Try BitComet.

b4 forwarding ports... i never got sppeeds in excesss of 8 KB .. after port forwarding i got 28KB on every torrent i had done so far since july ..BT would take time to start downloading if you do not allocate disk space .. but if you do then it would start downloading a lot faster .its that simple... and i like to use BT cause i can control my upload speeds to anything i wish and my download speed still is max.. .add me on msn or yahooo and maybe we can then share some downloading gyan .. hehe

MY review1.Azeureus-best ttorrent client,but you need a good comp (I have p4 3.0 HT with 512MB ram) for making good use of it otherwise wont work.Get speeds of 28 kbps to 32 kbps regularly,even with just 2-3 seedrs ,instant download starts(provided tracker is not down )look for alternate trackers on the search engine (link-removed)and add manually.Dont use it if you have port forwarding problem ,change default port 6881 .Also most Firewalls have problems with it ,for me it worked only with ZA pro ,outpost ,f secure or use it without firewall on linux.Use torrent for common and newly released stuff,downloaded suse 9.3 (5 CD )pro the day it was released. can look for any new movie but not rare stuff. Needs J2re preinstalled2.Emule-Speeds crappy but get instant results(if you dont find your stuff on emule you wont find it anywhere) and good for E books,I got myself rareest of rare medical books (almost 250 of them using it) hence never mind low speed ,may get good speeds after say about 1 hr ,also download 3 to 4 stuff simultaneusly so you will get good speeds(25-28 kbps0. It always frustrates you when you are near completion like last 1 % and you may attimes need 1 to 2 days to complete that last .Any advice on alternate (edonkey)non java based client wud be good.3.Limewire pro -good for music ,decent speeds(25-28 kbps),but search results limited for other stuff.java based again.it seems that java based clients give good speeds over others 4.DC++-used it for just 1 hr,good speeds but searching on different hubs is the most difficult part,hence avoidable ,unlless ofcourse you use it for LAN sharing.Also you are D/L only from 1 peer so ,if he goes offline you are stranded in the middle.5.FTP-Used only for linux distros-Got mysely and installed newly released linux suse 10 FINAL,5 CD (GM) on 8th october itself.6. another search for irc. is packetnews.com..i heard of mldonkey. but never really gave it a try... though i have java installed.. i`ll give it a try in a few days. maybe..the first client i had used was azureus. liked it very much. but then .. after i startrd getting good speeds on bit tornado then on azureus .. i dumped azureus .. i dont really agreee with you that java clients give more speeds over other client.s. what works for you might not work me.. and vice versa.. like here.. i thnk BT only works for me . while for others it doesnt and they use azureus or even bitcomet..

thanx all of u for all that info on downloading clients. it seems that downloading thru torrents is the best and fastest way to download. but its not the client used to download torrents im asking of. i want to know if there r any OTHER TORRENT SITES that provides the search results for the files/videos ive mentioned earlier on this forum??? Ive already searched on all the 12 favourite torrent sites which r listed in bit comet for those files but never found any results. These sites also include link-removed, link-removed, torrentbox and link-removed. maybe i dont know the really good torrent sites. if u can find those files/videos on any of ur favourite torrent sites, then plz let me know.
