Why dont you say that BMW is over expensive. If I and you can afford that then we would buy it. Otherwise wont.
I knew this will come. But posting a counter argument then itself, would have diluted its meaning.
U say BMW is over-expensive. I wont say - going by the top class facilities it offers. For the kind of facilities these luxury cars offer, they are properly priced.
But then u cant sell a Maruti 800, for the price of a BMW. When that happens, u have to raise ur voice against it. Coz they glorify Maruti 800s as a BMW, & sell it for over-hyped prices & after buying u realise that it was all illusion.
U tell me, these web browsers - I remember older Opera coming for some amount to be paid.......That was way back in around 2003-2004, when i had seen it first time & it said, that to use certain features, u need to pay.
What happened to that?? Today all those browsers come for free......WHAT LESSON DID U LEARN FROM THAT??
- The people who paid up earlier, were just mislead & hypnotised by the word "Premium/Paid" thing......today, they cudnt survive in the competition, & have made it fully free.
This just shows that if they intend, they can give u anything for free. But they fool people like u to believe that it takes efforts & efforts to create a stuff, & so u pay us for that.......
Tomorrow these people themselves will slowly move towards free stuff.
If the creator of the content dont have any issues that its fine but in all other cases it wrong and illegal.
Thats what i am saying. let the Creator In the 1st place claim his right over his thing. Then we will decide whats legal & whats not
PS: Now this line is only in the context of Vintage stuff, for which nothing is available in the market & which is available only on the internet. DOnt tweak this line to apply in some other argument.
If you dont like that still you are bound to pay for it.I gave the example of restaurant becoz i wanted to say that food you ate cant be reversed(put back into the plates) and they wont return your money. Then why are you biasing towards digital stuff

1) Firstly, restaurants do not charge high rices for Bullshit dishes......if a majority likes it, only then it charges SOME premium. Mind u "SOME" premium. Not exorbitant.
2) Secondly, 1 dish that i didnt like, doesnt cost me 1000+ bucks.....its just about 50-60 odd....
3) Thirdly, i know u will argue that there are Big restaurants which charge exorbitantly & there, the cost of disliked dishes can go up.
Still, for that day, ur stomach is filled right?? U do not need to spend for a dish of ur taste, coz u DONT HAVE ANY HUNGER LEFT. Thats not the case with Digital stuff. U dont like a game, u need another game. U dont like a Movie, u need another......

This very statement shows, that he is selling u a "PLAIN NOTHING", and charging u quite a fortune for it.

Btw, i dont have anything against rich.......look at Reliance products - All of them are at throw away prices & still u can see where Mukesh Ambani & Anil Ambani are sitting.
So, thats just a lame argument that if he doesnt charge premium, then he will be on streets.
Ok lets take from other perspective.lets lower the price of digital stuff. Just tell the exact price of windows and games which you think is appropiate .
Dude, you cant lower price of the stuff which can be pirated so easily..isnt it? Even if you say that you can sell me something for Rs. 1 then I would say that why pay that also If I can get it for free !!
Dont hypothesize things according to ur advantage. I again remind u, that i gave u a live example of Moser Baer. They sell u stuff at throw-away prices & more people are flocking to buy it. Atleast a "SUPPORTER OF PIRATES" as u consider me, is "COMPELLED TO BUY IT", rather than "STEALING" as u term it.
U compare any other brand (Say
Sony or whatever) releasing a movie with Moser Baer.....
Sony will charge u Rs. 200 per movie on CD. They sell 10 such units of it........200*10=2000
Moser Baer charges Rs. 50 per movie on CD. They will sell atleast 40-50 such sets.......take 40 & u get 50*40=2000
And apart from gaining more sales, the reputation that they will build in people's eyes, will be different.
Do you have that kind of patience to wait for one-two months for maoserbaer DVD for watching latest flick. ?
Obviously yes!! If i get something for reasonable prices - COMMENSURATE WITH THE UTILITY THEY GENERATE, then i will surely pay for it.
If at Rs.200 u find 50% people resorting to pirated stuff, then at Rs. 50, u will find only 10% of them........
