Airtel DVR have no HD capability your wrong buddy

its known fact airtel dvr is not full hd as per the user manual
what i mean is picture quality of of dvr is good but the channel tuning is very slow spoils the mood :(.

my dads kicked out all the salesman that came so far coz we have to get 4 stb if all of us want to watch diff stuff. they r happy with the old method just 200 bucks and u get all the channels plus everyone can watch their own stuff. So far in our area the cable guys been really good by providing crystal clear video and audio

lol...I am having the same situation at my home. I have 3TV at my home. All are connected with cable. Cablewallah only charges 150 bucks and that makes 50bucks per TV!! I am getting all the channels.no tension of packages. he automatically adds any new channel whether it is any sports channel or any entertainment channel.
No tension. 99.99% uptime.

Thats good man. Our cablewalla takes freakin' 250 bucks and most of the channels are grainy. When we complain, he says "Tumhara TV ka problem hai". He keeps shuffling channels every week and we have to search for it. Kicked the connection out on January and got Videocon D2H. But in my case, I have one TV only.

U people are making me cough out my problems again......Rs 300pm, Half channels not visible in STB, and in normal cable line, only few were visible - which had an amazing "Rain effect" in them.......no extra things like - Music channels, movie channels, and no customer support!!And what i said, is not even the tip of the iceberg - i was that desperate to kick out the cable guy!!

Just to list a few thats that bugged me in my cable wala was

1) That he used to shuffle the channels !!!. You cannot sort/organize them - because in morning what used to be ESPN ...evening used to be something else !
2) QUALITY of transmission was HOPELESS ....you have to see the STB clarity to belive it ...
3) STB viewing is just an awesome experience - not to see any grains/fluctuations in signal
4) Power outage at cable guys place during key moments of match ...arrrgghhh ...STB has non stop 24 hour transmission :)
5) Power to record and view my programmes later on
6) Electronic programme guide - BEST THING ever ...dont have to keep surfing the channels to find out whats going on other channels ...just keep watching what you are watching and browse the content of other channels :)

I can keep going on ...but i guess you people get the point

PS:- No questions that the service will COST you more than what you are paying right now - question is when do you find your tipping point :)

I had posted this in another thread......
================================================================================================================================================================================================

Here, we had Rs.300pm, when i Threw off his STB in November. And the "Outstanding features".......

1) Without using the keyboard, we could get "Screenshots" of whatever we watched!!
2) We had an Advanced "Glass break" effect on our screen continuous on Most channels.
3) Half of the channels still had to be watched in regular Cable.....with the Mesmerising "Rain effect".....
4) And the cable guy was so soft-spoken, so well-mannered, that he never turned up until it was time for him to collect his money. And so smart he was - whenever he came, he would rectify all the issues for 2-3 days!!
================================================================================================================================================================================================

And just a comment on sarcasm - The more frustrated/angry i get, the more sarcasm creeps in. I show my anger in that way, instead of hurling bad language.......so from my words u can imagine how much frustrated & angry i am!!

I just want yo say that I am lucky !! god bless my cable wallah...lol.. I think only time I will opt for DTH only for HD stuff. I am planning to buy 40 inch LCD/LED in coming two months(after my home rennovation gets over)..for that HD would be needed .

But i think, a few days back, there were reports that the "Digitalisation" of Cable TV has been approved & has started. I assume that they meant "HD" by the term "Digitalisation". So if ur Cable guy is good, i think u still dont need to change him to get in DTH.

yup...but we live in INDIA. Nothing happens on time:notallowed:. Even if everything goes on time then also I have to until 2012. Thats too long I guess considering the fact that My new LCD is just 2 months away from me :isleep:
