1.One good point about Airtel:They try to retain old customers, with whatever Tariff Planthey had earlier. ( so long you don't switch to new tariff/s)Example:I was on 256 Kbps Night free top up 0900PM to 0800 AM. ( 400 MB day limit)2.Changed to Home combo 499 Speed upto 2 Mbps ( H24)Nu same Rs 99 top up 0900PM to 0800 AM ( day limit 1 GB)plus Rs 200/= worth free telephone calls. Total Bill Min Rs 660/=Now New users will NEVER get this tariff or speed!!!!Again NU timings have been reduced now. 3.And my NU is not metered! It was metered and shown, and on my objectiondeleted/blanked from usage records accessible by me in Selfcare.( No need to use scheduler/s etc to switch off/on modem )4.And Changing the modem ( free) is routine in Airtel. They save time and money in service calls.Airterl Staff/ CC made about three visits. ( during past three years) Every time Modem was upgraded.5.IncidentallyI also have Home 250 tariff plan of BSNL ( 1 GB speed upto 2 Mbps)!!

ONE thing u should know ......... Airtel is only available in cities Not available in entire INdia like BSNL provides ........

Thanks for your reply, i agree with your statement that availability is an issue with Airtel. But in areas where it is available, the quality of service is certainly better than BSNL [many customers complain of frequent modem disconnections, resulting in incomplete downloads and uploads and being logged out from websites, etc]

Airtel ........... 512 kbps for 14 hours and 1 mbps for 10 hours[/QUOTE said:
You are mistaken, the day timings are 6am to 10pm [16hrs] and night timings are 10pm to 6am [8hrs] as per the airtel website.

horribbly formatted text

Kanishka, do yourself a favor and learn how to type a properly formatted post. If you cannot even type plain text properly, that ought to say a lot of about you.

Would have read your post, but seeing the formatting I assumed you were a clueless teen trying to be smart on the 'internets'. Even if you are not a teen, the other factors would put off anyone anyway.

i dont think that the choosability of a internet connection should solely depends on ""how much i datat can be downloaded in 1 month".. for all usersconsider UL750+ users at 750 ( yes some extra tooand less if u r govt employee) they get hassle free browsing at 256kbps they dont have to worry about extra bills ,d/l liimit or anything the only have problem watching youtube and video streaming even games like second life playes well heredownload as much u can download i always consider this plan best as i dont have to worry about d/l limit in daytime and neither have to awake in night (there are powercuts in night so ant schedule) plus 1000 is affordabl for a broadband any replacement airtel ( no i dont want your fairuse police my d/l }+u/l = 50 gb a month which is beyond your limit):cool2:

get a life .bsnl is still light years ahead of its competition ! . 500c is just an example of it .:dance::dance::irock::irock::irock::irock::irock:

@ Kanishka
Please check your keyboard, I think the 'period' button of your keyboard is stuck.:hysterical:

other broadband connections are in stone age (that is the caveman days ) bsnl is the one to look for when u talk speeds and downloads at affordable price ! . .AND THE WORD LIGHT YEAR IS JUST A FIGURE OF SPEECH .get a life ! . . .

Proper communication is necessary for proper flow of information. Proper formatting helps in better communication.

A sane member is useless if he cannot communicate his ideas properly!

Consequently, a message which is difficult or impossible to read and comprehend actually damages a forum.

the only have problem watching youtube and video streaming even games like second life playes well here

Yes, I agree.

Been using the 750 Unlimited for quite a while now. Watching youtube is not a problem if one pauses the video for some time before starting it to get a big chunk downloaded.

And downloading stuff is not a problem. I download Ubuntu updates, Ubuntu releases and other stuff (including music, photos, videos from my relatives' computers) and never have to worry about bandwidth. The transfer does take a while though, but I can live with it for now. 700 MB usually take around 6~7 hours to download (around 256 kbps).

I don't play video games online so latency and speed is not an issue for me from that point of view either.
