Just Because a Law can be misused does not merit that it should not be enacted. every law can be misused, that should not be an excuse/deterrent to make tougher laws. See what happened when they repealed POTA, many terror accused youths in U.P. are getting bail coz of virtually non-existent terrorism laws.

Agreed that DVA is being misused. But at the same time it gives millions of helpless women a sense of confidence that can too file a complaint against harassment.

who said not to enact a tough law, where I have written not to enact it. My point was to make sure its not misused like domestic violence act, care should be taken beforehand.

@MascotAs i said, its within the people, and not just a handful of corrupt politicians. Agreed, they shud not be there. My stand on that aspect remains the same. But more than that, its the mentality of every person that needs a total revamp.Let us go into a fantasy world & assume that Kejriwal wins the election in 2014. Let us also assume, that without hesitating, he passes laws that nail the corrupt. But, how long will all that last? Just like after getting Independence, we are again struggling after 60+ years, chances are pretty bright, we will be in much worse condition than today, after another 60+ years or so.So even the extremest of the fantasies will not be as rosy as we think. Coz the real culprit, is individual mentality to break law, and force others to break the law - as said by Umesh.

Coming to seat belts/helmets......i have seen people removing their helmets, even as they are riding their bikes, once they are past the traffic guys. Now, for whose benefit was the rule made? For our benefit? And these fools, actually get into deeper danger by removing their helmets even as they r driving!
I see people "holding" seat belts in place as they drive past traffic guys, and immediately release it, when they are past them.

And these are just few of the numerous numerous examples that i can give, based on my observations.

Forgive me for all the gyaan, but then to me, all these small things have led to bigger violations of laws, and eventually as big as these.

all we can do is , just make sure that we just do right things

urself or myself must have warned like 100 times about the side stand open in bikes , everyone does this on the road from children to elder people

but has anyone ever tried to warn someone who is talking on phone while riding bike ?
i have tried that twice , just twice . stopped doing that when i got a funny look and fowl language as if i was doing that for my goodness

Good that there are some who did think on my views. So coming to the problem of "Who m i to persuade the others to do right?" U have a very valid question, but to that i have 1 way out, which works most of the times, certainly not always.....Wherever possible, try to set this thought rolling. I m sure every one has many acquaintances even outside of internet, in their real lives. If during ur life time, if u try and spread this message to even 1000 people, atleast 10 wud pick it up for sure. Sounding optimistic, but then u have to be. If atleast 10 people pick up & agree with ur idea, they too will surely try and spread it.I will again give a gist of an old story, which shows the power of people's thinking itself.....In a village, the king offers free lunch to each and every villager, on the condition that each one shud bring just 1 cup of milk. They dont need to give it to anyone, just that they have to pour it in a huge tank.After the lunch was over, and the tank was opened.....they found that the tank was full of water - not even a hint of milk.Why did this happen? Everyone assumed that there are so many villagers, if there is 1 cup of water, it wont even get noticed!See the difference just the thought process makes? This is the situation we are in right now - people have assumed "What difference will it make if i obey the laws well? I m not enough to bring about the change." And that is the reason why we have reached a stage where we are seeing shocking crimes & no one is able to do anything about it, except for candle-light vigils......peaceful protests too are not allowed these days in our country!

i have heard this story in childhood ,
i have stopped persuading third persons i just do to the dear ones and close ones so i can be sure that i wont get that fowl language atleast !!

things are changing so bad that someone who does everything gets a weird look always
