Very nice

similar to mine .for now the Local ISP I'm using which is 7 Star broadband, i haven't faced a single downtime in last 4 months, this is better than all the other ISPs I've used before (Hathway ,Jio fiber ,Airnet networks ,Airtel Airfiber)

Posting here due to common airtel random small disconnection problem which has spread to Delhi too.
Getting for last few months & didn't wanted to bang my head with CC due to previous experience.

Discconnection was easier via email giving emigrating to Canada as reason lol with a sten warning to collect ont asap and won't pay penny extra after 3 days of this email. Confirmation of disconnection was received next day itself.
They did call afterwards but i discconected the call the moment they said calling from airtel.
ont was collected within 10-15 days but they did sent pickup courier twice and reminder calls even after pickup.

I already had 10mbps jio plan with OTT as backup. And was using it as main for few days.
Suprisingly no one in house complained of slow speeds even when 3 tvs, 2 laptops and several mobiles n iot devices were connected.
Problem mostly happened to me only when updates happened or when I has to swap mums to new phone and for updates move outside on 5G.
IMO for most elderly people 10mbps 399 plan with DTH or iptv is enough.

Now for new connection I had ACT or lco as option. No tata fiber here.
ACT outdoor box with power connection made it rather outdated. Also I never recieved my previous extra refund back.
I hate their billing n support from last experience.

Opted for lco who was offering either excitel (used previously) .... congestion during peak ours(LCO local problem) + many times got disconnection in meeting during lockdown then airtel use to work flawlessly.

Finally opted for siti, I guess their 4month 100mbps for 1600(all inclusive) made it a vfm choice.
Paid 1000 for Old dual band ONT UB-5020-GWD which is refundable according to lineman. Doubt it.
After installation LCO used someone else id to test till mine was created so no account binding.

Cons is
unable to make bridge mode work
even changing dns cripples the internet. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
No ipv6.

Pros is getting 100mbps everywhere. Video doesn't lag at all even with non common sites.
Not a single site in blocked even alibaba or torrent.
Torrent work better than Airtel/jio or previous excitel.

Siti is using mix of jio and airtel for international bandwidth.
Happy to pay less for double the speeds without any shaping at international gateway.

One thing I don't like about TPF is the unnecessary OTT crap they bundle. There is no plan which doesn't have bundled OTT subscription. Although their pricing is very competitive, non OTT plans should also be provided. Technically they are not charging anything extra and offering a cashback of 500-700 on long term plans. As per customer care I can use this cashback on my next recharge which is fine.

I am really starting to appreciate the prepaid payment method on TPF, coming from Airtel and ACT with their crap "advanced rental" bs, this is much better. They always have some sort of offer on higher speed plans. I upgraded from 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps speed with an effective pricing of 1055 rupees pm(after cashback) along with 4 OTT Apps(which I am never gonna use 😂).

Facing random slowdown since last couple of days mostly in the evening. It has been raining a lot lately but fiber should be unaffected right? I restarted my router multiple times but the issue still persists. Internet becomes almost unusable but when performing speedtest, it shows full upload and download speed as per plan. I don't know what's wrong. Tried changing DNS as well but no luck.
My TP-Link Archer AX10 is connected in bridge mode to the Tata provided Nokia ONT. I don't see any disconnections in the log and even the PON light is green during these slowdowns.

If it's network congestion then why does speedtest.net results remain unaffected?

The thing is I have some important work related meetings going on during the evening and since last couple of days it has been very inconvenient as my feed starts to drop packets even when connected via LAN cable. My parents also complain about the video stream buffering.
I will try to take it up with their customer care and let's see what they say.

Hi @87056 do you have all the LAN Ports on your Nokia router active in bridge mode or just one ? could you please dial pppoe on other 3 Lan ports and let me know if you were able to ?

Only one port is active on bridge mode, rest all other ports are deactivated. The router is just acting as a media converter now.

This seems to be resolved now. There was a planned maintenance in my area and after that I have not faced any sort of slowdowns. Internet is working fine.
