Wi Fi connectivity problem with siemens sl2_141

Hi have been using my Plan 250 wifi propperly since last 5 months, had some problem in the laptop so undertook recovery method on some idiots advice thereby losing all data.reconfigured the siemens router but the laptop only connects in the direct mode not in wi fi mode. the bsnl engr tells me to have it changed since he syas it means sumthing wrong with thew modem in wi fi mode.its still in guarantee.any suggestions.

/members/andy_65_in/Did you update/reload the drivers for the laptop Wireless LAN card ?Check in Device Manager. Yellow mark means trouble.

i c no yellow mark in my device manager.shud i ask the bsnl engineer to help.had one to the sde bbnd bsnl who checked all ip adresses etc said they were ok but said if the wifi doesnt wk then go 4 modem change since its still in warantee.will it beter to chNGE THE MODEM .wil i have to reconfigure it again.can u please help me reconfigure this modem how does one do it

Did you check whether it wireless lan card was enabled ? In Device Manager ?

are you able to see your wifi router under wireless networks in windows? ensure that wireless option is ON in your router SL2_141 (Type-B) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION
