wifi connection

hi friends,,,,, i hav a BSNL bb connection my is modem MT841, i was using the connection on my PC on LAN,,,,,,, but now i hav bought a laptop with Wifi ,,,,,, and now i want to connect my Laptop on Wifi and PC on LAN for simultaneous working on my modem,,,,,,,,,, pls tell me the procedure n hardware required for it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thanks in advance for ur replies,,,,,, Wish u a Happy & Prosperous New Year 2009

MT841 has got 4 LAN ports so you can use your Laptop on one of the LAN ports by connecting a CAT5 patch cable from Laptop to Modem.You you want to use laptop via WiFi the you will need to buy a Wifi router and connect it to you modem with CAT5 patch cable.

MT841 has also WIFI mode in one model. Did you get that model ?
Very difficult to get the wireless card for this modem.
Else as suggested above you have to buy a WIFI router.

you need to be on PPoE mode for this.. where internet would work as soon as your modem is switched on .. You need not use the dialer after you configure modem in ppoe mode.. have you done so?? link given above by essbebe
