Just like the title says I have been trying to get airtel to set the router which they provided which is gx titanium 2122A to bridge mode for 3 days to connect my own router but they are repeatedly saying i need static ip i even mailed them the revert from the mail was most likely bot reply because it just told me to the steps to put the router in bridge mode from the router’s net page.I cant do that bcz its locked i have no access to change the settings of the router.I know static ip is not needed for bridge mode but i will still buy it from them so the answer I need is will they put the router in bridge mode if i buy a static ip from them and will the bridge mode stay active if i cancel the static ip after 2,3 months.

The sales teams insist for static ip but it is not really needed. You can just mail email their Network team, and someone will call from "backend". Even they will quote u need a static ip, but if you stay your course, they will enable it even if just to close the ticket. But that config is usually lost if they send a router refresh etc, so I just replaced their router with my ONT, and I dont need a bridge mode.

Hello,
could you tell me about how you did your own ONU+router. Like I am asking to know which router airtel gave you, which ONU + router combo did you use

@xeronzi there is absolutely no need for buying a static IP to enable bridge mode, both are different things that has no relation. Several people have been told this, including me (though I didn't even ask for bridge mode I asked for IPv6 and the ignorant CC guy kept talking about bridging and static IP), but upon complaining to the appellate in strong words, they automatically enabled it, just like they enabled IPv6 for me.

You don't nee static ip to set your new router as bridge mode(to airtel modem). In the internet config wizard page, just set vlan and set Connection type as "Bridge" and bind it to say LAN port 3. Then connect the router's WAN port to the LAN 3 of modem.
In the router internet config wizard, set connection method as PPPoE(I presume), and enter the credentials.

You mentioned about - " its locked i have no access to change the settings of the router", is the router or the modem(gx titanium 2122A ).
If its any of them, ask them for password(I presume), and excuse as "To change the Wi-Fi password due to some leaks/overusage of others etc.
