Xiaomi Redmi 4

I honestly think it doesn't matter which version android is in miui devices since all miui roms almost have same features anyway.

also miui roms based on android N don't have screen split features. :retarded:

The problem is when developers stop supporting your OS. Xiaomi can replicate features but apps using newer APIs would not offer same features. Or work at all. Though most people would not keep this phone for long enough to see app developers discarding marshmallow support.

My mom's Redmi Note 4g has major issues with messaging apps. Incoming audio and video calls are not detected unless the app was used recently. Both WhatsApp and Telegram fail. No such issue on dad's Redmi 3s prime. And I don't think it's because of ram. Note 4g is on KitKat i believe. 3s is on newer Android.

^ Even I had this problem. It was some settings which prevented the apps from waking up the screen/device. let me see the settings

yup. xiaomi devices are supported for 2~3 years by xiaomi and after that, since these devices sell like hotcakes, they have good software support from other devs

I have tried disabling every kind of power saving setting for the apps. Just doesn't help.

thinking of buying one for Mom, so best bet is going for highest RAM possible and then flash a Custom OS like Lineage for Monthly Security fixes?

go to systems > permissions > autostart > enable the apps you want to autostart

iirc, i have tried that as well. the app just does not pick up the incoming audio call unless i opened it in the last couple of seconds.
