Here is what I get in 12Mbps plan https://www.speedtest.net The ping is excellent :) But there are downtimes in connection. I wonder what speeds I will get after 25GB. Any ideas?

I didn't know that You Broadband was available in Delhi?? Where do you live exactly?

Actually I am using it in Gurgaon.

Spoke too soon .. Getting pathetic speeds from 2 days .. something like 380 to 512 kbps bandwith .. registered a complaint and no ones done anything till now ...

I've joined You broadband yesterday. Got the speed test done. 12mbps connection.

I'll hold off my judgement on this maybe for the next 3 months.

Ok, some experiences with you broadband. On may 10, modem stopped working(leased from you broadband.) Complained about it to them 2 days later. From may 12 to may 22, had no internet(had reliance and bsnl in the house so no issues with downtime) but it took some 6 calls to the call centre and 3 calls to the bangalore office to get it resolved. Speed was good until disconnection(10mbps+) but after modem replacement, was slow, 1-2 mbps. After putting in 2 additional calls, finally speed has come back to 4-12mbps.Connection is generally good. Wish they had better customer and technical frontend.FWIW

Do not post illegal torrents downloading screenshot. Just remove it.

You guys are not doing your speed tests correctly. What you will find are that all the ISPs are false advertising. What they are selling are not internet speeds but rather INTRAnet speeds (within the same network).

To speedtest properly, you need to change your server to one located in the USA. Why? Because 99% of the internet is hosted on data centres located in the USA. The top 10 most visited websites from India are US based websites. (source: Alexa) In fact, the highest visited Indian based websites are hosted on European/ American data centres.

Testing your internet speeds with local servers (based here in India) means that you are most likely pinging a server belonging to the same telecom company (or even 2 different telecom companies using the same physical line) and that will obviously give you the maximum speeds as it's essentially on the same network - aka an intranet NOT internet.

Here is a correctly performed speedtest (pinging a server in Denver, Colorado) via an Airtel 4mbps adsl connection

And here is the illogical method (pinging a local Indian server):

mdworkz, the speed test for a local server gives me 12mbps but from a chicago server.

I was wondering why do I get 12mbps when I am downloading torrents files but only 400-600 KBps from
http sites. Most of the torrent peers are abroad.
Why the discrepancy?
