I could honestly blame myself for one thing only and that was thinking that having a glorified 5G Mobile Data Hotspot would be a good idea.
Here is my TLDR of my experience with using Jio AirFiber:
Only good for basic browsing + video streaming but expect it to be extremely sluggish and annoying
Doing anything that requires a stable connection to a server? Forget about it, disconnection is inevitable.
Pathetic Service. You can't really use this thing without having packet loss, speed issues...
There are many threads here where many people acknowledged the slowness of the Jio Fiber router over time (one of the threads I could find now is here). However, there were no working solutions till now.
I found a solution and am sharing the same here. I decided to keep it in a new thread for ease of tracking.
The Problem:
The Jio Fiber Gateway (router) especially model JCO4032 has an issue with 5GHz band WiFi where we can see slowness over time. The discussion of this issue can be found...
I guess Reliance Jio has started it’s IPTV services on a testing basis. Some of the channels have started their feed.
Having issues with Jio Airfiber
frequent 10-15 second disconnections and interruptions every 380MB in usage history. Also, noticed more buffering on the STB which others are posting on Twitter too.
Any other Jio Airfiber users experiencing these problems?
For me its very annoying to get disconnected in between between online meeting. Thinking to switch back to alliance broadband until jio fixes its stability.

When I connect via GlobalProtect VPN to my office network it connects but most of the apps or sites don’t work.
Strangely, Outlook and Teams do seem to work as well as one or two websites like Moneycontrol (although even these sites open VERY VERY slowly). I did a trace route and it seems like packets are reaching the destination but they’re either taking too much time or getting blocked so in the browser I get a ERR_TIMED_OUT error.

Seeing a lot of negative reviews of Jio AirFiber. I am thinking if I must replace Airtel XStream Fiber with Jio AirFiber. The main reason I wanted to change to Jio is the OTT benefits. I will also be using for WFH purpose.

I recently got JioFiber connection, so I wanted to share my experience. I will be comparing everything with my previous ISP (i.e., RailWire). My experience with RailWire was pathetic from every angle and recently their services went downhill even locally, so it was really horrible experience with them. And since 4G/5G signal reception is poor in my area as well, I was really in need of a stable ISP. Luckily, Jio finally decided to start serving my area. xD
So, here’s my experience so far-...
1) login to 192.168.1.1 with admin : admin
2) go to maintenance> logs > system logs
3) search for "passwd" on that page
you will most probably get 3 results among them 1 is for default "admin" access, 1 is for a higher level access "superuser", and the other one is for telnet access
(both the username and password will be mentioned there)
4) login with the superuser account and go to maintenance > utilities > acl and enable telnet access for lan and save it
5) open telnet on 192.168.1.1...
I have now successful authentication with third party ont - TP-Link xz000-g3 gpon ont to pfsense (my pc) without original jiofiber router . Then Internet is working fine.
So there is problem 😔 speed is not good because of fluctuations... Is there is problem with TPlink or pfsense configuration so how to fix it?
For bridge mode working, we will need one router which allows mac address cloning.
STEP 1 : Go to WAN section of your PPC ONT and disable the admin status of INTERNET wan profile.
STEP 2 : Go to IPTV profile in wan section and scroll down and select LAN 2 in port binding.
STEP 3 : You need to to connect your router which allows mac address cloning wan port of router to LAN 2 of PPC ONT using ethernet cable.
STEP 4 : Go to excitel portal and copy MAC Address( remember to copy mac address...

I have JioFiber connection from previous 1 year. It was smooth until today when I suddenly started facing issues in my work. Due to WFH, I need to connect to Microsoft Azure cloud DBs very often and use them during software development. It was shocking to me this morning when I was unable to connect to Azure DB from my laptop. I used it on JioFiber last time on Friday night.

i tried to access and make some settings changes to my jio fiber router but not able to do so. when i try to login it says that my username/password is wrong. i tried default admin login as well but it's not working.
can someone guide me how to get username/password for my router?

users cant access to WAN settings
there is no option to disable ipv6 all together.
ipv6 DNS is till enforce even if ipv6 dhcp mode set to none.

As you might know, Jio does not offer static IPv4, and it is not easy to apply for port forwarding (for Camera etc. purposes). However, they do provide IPv6 and this can be used for hosting web servers.
To allow IPv6 incoming connections to your device (e.g. a PC running nginx), you need to disable all firewall rules in Jio Router. (At least initially for ease of setup / troubleshooting - once you get it working you can slowly tighten it up).
