I contacted the LCO and submitted the ID proof and photo to open a Kerala Vision account. The LCO person seemed bit un-sure about me configuring both BSNL and Kerala Vision with the same ONT. I said I will take care of configuring it, just get me the VLAN ID and creds etc.
When I tried Kerala Vision I had to get another fiber strand spliced with the connector, also the fiber cable coming to my house was multistranded. The LCO said BSNL and KeralaVision are having two separate OLTs also he couldn't configure both of the connections through a single switch. I had to swap the connectors for the ONU. I only got a limited amount of time with it. Looks like I should activate it soon.

@varkey Don't tell me that, you are having that ont inside your olt again 😒😒... Those tests don't count real world usage...

Interesting, I wonder why they'd have separate OLTs 🤔 Here in my case, the LCO appear to be using the same OLT for all, he was a just bit unsure on how it would be configured on the ONT. And was saying that I'd need two ONT's if I need to use both connections at the same time.

Anyway will post an update once I get the account setup etc.

I'm not sure about the seprate olt. My LCO did give me the dwan connection through same fibre. Guess his olt had both bsnl and dwan. When I was adamant about bsnl he just changed the config.

I guess BSNL staff is doing the OLT updates remotely for every LCO/vendor because most LCOs might not be sufficiently skilled to update the OLT themselves?

They must be doing this one by one in a phased manner, so who knows how many more days it will take.

@airforce and @prabin can you comment on what is going on from LCO perspective please?
