What about those who recharge in advance just after receiving free upgrade message? The message was itself part of marketing to lure old customers so they can recharge with long term plan.
Again, people tried to be clever and recharged old plans hoping to save money by getting an upgrade. The truth is they signed up for old plans. They should have waited to sign up for new plans if they were concerned about the benefits under new plans.

Well the thing is the existing customers paid for the current and even long term plans knowing the upload speed and accepting it willingly. So there is no obligation on Jio’s part to offer anything more than promised and agreed upon at the time people purchased the plans. They have upgraded all plans to unlimited data even though they were not obligated to do so. So we should appreciate that rather than criticising them. If we need symmetrical speeds we can recharge with new plans and enjoy it. Otherwise, use the plan you paid for and get what you paid for.
My thoughts exactly.

The amount of gullible people in this thread is bordering on insane. I don't know if it's intentional or they really do think a company owns them something just because of an SMS.

Somebody who bought a LTP, bought it knowing full what were the restrictions. With plan change, all LTP users also got almost UL data, more than the earlier plans. If anybody recharged for a LTP just looking at an SMS and not waiting for actual rollout to begin (there was no financial incentive to even do so), I pity you. This is a small drop in the ocean. How do you guys survive life ?

Your ISP is Airtel. right? Do you even know the whole story? I suppose no!! In this case, you shouldn't be here defending Jio. First know the story and then judge and conclude!! Symmetrical speed is what they advertised in SMS along with the unlimited data. People who are paying 499 month are now getting more upload speed than users who are paying 2500.

Yup, they promised. they released FAQ's where they said they will provide symmetric speed and also migrate old users to a new plan with the new speed. IF you advertise like that and told people that these things will be done that is a promise sir
