tplink archer c6 new firmware issues

I am seeing users getting WLAN problems on the latest stable fw on Archer C6 (Many people have been getting better results by using the beta official fw, you can try that.) I am still on 1.2.1 version because it works and I see no reason to upgrade to the latest fws given the issues. You can try installing openwrt and then downgrading?

Also I think they've disabled the ability to turn of oneMesh.

Leaving this guide for Archer C6 here, in case you want to go the open wrt way.
Are you running OpenWRT ? If so how is the wireless experience. I have heard that lack of hardware acceleration in Openwrt firmware decreases the performance. And can u load good number of addons/modules to it ?

I am not running openwrt myself, but if you look at the repository's issue section in the guide I linked. The guy is running openwrt 18 and is not facing any performance loss in wireless. I can't speak about the number of addons but you could open a issue about this in the guide too.

@shashankb I'm running OpenWRT 19.0.4 on C6 and although I did not test WiFi range properly before switching from stock fw, I think the WiFi performance is a bit worse on OpenWRT so it's probably good to keep that in mind if you plan to switch from stock.

Would you be willing to try the 18.0.x version to see if your WLAN performance improves because the issues exist only on version 19
