Jio fiber router getting slow over time? Restart fixes it.

Bit late to join this party. So I had the piece of trash JCO4032 since October, 2020 and faced this issue over the usual 5 Ghz bands. It was only yesterday that I got fed up and end up calling the customer care as expected they tried to pull their usual scripted "Oh, but we don't replace routers like that" after asking a ton of technologically incompetent questions and wasting my time. It was only when I asked them to just send a technician at my place, the technician luckily knew about the issue and handled all of it and got the router replaced with the new JCO414. Problem solved. Jio should stop being in denial just do a country wide recall and replace the 4032 trash as a gesture of goodwill.

Currently, I am on the 100mbps plan. Will I get the 2.4ghz or 5ghz router if I ask for a replacement?

They are not giving out 2.4G routers anymore. Regardless make sure you are getting the right one before you pay or accept.

My jcow 4032 was replaced with jcow411.
Now 2.4ghz devices cannot connect. Can I try something at my end before raising a complaint?

Confirm router config or share here. Also try using a separate but simple AP name and check if that helps, finally a good old reboot or reset might work?

Now 2.4ghz devices cannot connect. Can I try something at my end before raising a complaint?

Try changing the channel of the 2.4Ghz. I have this issue with 5GHz on 4032, sometimes when the router restarts, my TP-Link extender fails to connect to router on 5GHz. I have to change channel in my router to one of them supported by extender.

The 'Engineers' claimed the '4G' doesn't work because of my inverter or maybe because I changed the password through jio app.
After couple of resets it connects but disconnect intermittently.

I am considering getting a Tinda or TP-Link and use jio router as gateway.

@Notorious You must have understood the qualification of the so-called 'Engineer' when he addressed 2.4GHz as '4G'

So my Router has begun facing the same issue of heating up and requiring a reboot every 2 days or so. Jio person asked me to let it remain off for 5 minutes or so, daily. Right now, I have it connected to a router power backup solution which doesn't let it go off even during power cuts.

Guess i'll have to keep manually rebooting it daily since a smart plug won't solve the issue here...
