If you work in an office, do you lock your phone with pin/encryption to prevent snooping?

He might be talking about the alert in the notification bar. Since I do not keep a pin, I am not sure if you still get a rolling preview like you do when the phone is not locked with a pin. I can on my phone read the message rolling in the bar at the top but my phone is not locked with a pin.

I guess that can be disabled in the messaging app or somewhere in settings. Not sure if possible on stock rom but surely can be done on custom roms

It is a privacy issue in either case :) When the phone is locked, it should not display any personal data. Though I guess it still displays the name of the incoming caller :P

well, ICICI lets you set it by calling the customer care. The executive transfers your call to IVR where you punch in your PIN that you want. The PIN supposedly is not shared with any human in the process.

I used ivr for generating emv pin on my replaced credit card. My dad would not be able to do it I bet. So alternatives are indeed needed.

Instead of sending PIN at random times, what they can implement is to ask customers to call IVR helpline and enter account/card number to generate PIN.

ICICI banks implementation is similar but applicable only in case of regeneration of PIN.

I understand because there's no dedicated IVR number for this purpose, so to reach to the point at which PIN is generated, we have to press multiple keys. Elders may find it outrightly confusing. Dedicated IVR for PIN generation can simplify things.

My dad has one hand fractured right now. I am thinking about accessibility issues. :-P
