you can't replace jio router as its both modem and router that has wifi however you can buy another good router and use it as extender easily by
following steps
1.disable DHCP on new router
2.make sure new router and jio router IP address are not same so in main router keep ip address 192.168.1.1 and new router as 192.168.1.2
3.now connect both jio router and new router via ethernet in lan port not Internet port and now you can use new router as extender

My goal is to avoid using the FIREWALL that comes with the Jio supplied router & use my own firewall. The procedure that you have suggested is not applicable in my situation.
@netuser123 then don't go for jio but if you still went for jio fiber then best option is disable wifi on jio router and use new router as primary router
