Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa and West Bengal could not attract even a single player.

The process will end only when the demand is equal to the number of slots available in each circle.

Does this mean 3G arrival in Assam, J&K, Orissa & WB would be delayed?

BSNL gets shitload of money from the government for this particular reason... operate in not so profitable regions.

HindustanTimes-Print

State-controlled Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) are worried as the bid price for the pan-India 3G spectrum reached Rs 6,067 crore at the end of the 8th day of bidding on Monday. This is 73.3 per cent higher than the reserve price of Rs 3,500 crore.

i can see them protest and refuse to pay the price for 3G spectrum in the near future.

Would this mean they have to cease 3G operations? Yeeey... maybe time for us to start operations in those states. We could build techno-cities in the middle of nowhere based around the availability of high-speed broadband.

Kind of like Las Vegas, but without the gambling and the nuclear afterglow.

i assume they would just go on strike or play hard. government would eventually give in and provide them with a subsidized rate. in the end, common man would lose. :P

So does this mean that Tata, Aircel, Loop subscribers wont get 3g services in Bombay?

they will have to license it from from Vodafone and whoever else won.Airtel has won in Mumbai too.

there are 3 winners in every area
