I have 749NU plan. I am getting 256kbps where as i am supposed to get upto 2mbps speed. I wrote to MTNL (bbspeed) and rhey replied that i cannot get speeds of more than 256kbps as i have iptv. isn't this a violation of TRAI norms or a fraud as its nowhere written in the site. ? Is there anything that can be done ?

they have written it on their site.....that why i was reluctant to go for iptv

The letter i wrote and the reply:

iptv customer cannot get speed >256kbps

@OpenDNS can you please tell me the location where its written. once i see that i can take ot to the higher authorities

if iptv cust are given 2 MBPS speeds for BB, then line will become unstable and then u'll experience black-out of ur IPTV and dissconnections of BB...

I had also registered for icontrol thru aksh in DELHI. gave them my landline no. as the contact no. and the very next week, my line is synced to IPTV ports. My speeds reduced to 256kbps on TRIBAND 749NU. Really got angry and fired a call to aksh, they said to cancel the booking when i recieve call from them. That very same day, go to sanchaar haat, and gave an application for disconnection of IPTV from my landline! The MTNL Babu tried to persuade me to take the connection as itz good (I AGREE IPTV IS GOOD)! but the speed problem. Got it disconnected the same day! The order was issued and the next day, i visited my exchange and got the IPTV port removed from my line! Good thing i had the luxury of free time then to visit the places! (approx. took 3 hours - 2 hours in waiting for babus)!

oh yes, had a chat at exchange with MTNL "engineer" (guy knew many things conceptually, not like the other older babus!)He said, the line does not support bandwidths in excess and hence to cap the internet speed! Hence, mtnl has introduced new plan with icontrol to get a seperate telephone line for exclusive use with IPTV (no phone connection, only IPTV)!:yahoo:
