ACT Broadband has done it once again (3rd time in 2 months)My internet is down since last night. As usual, I booked a complaint last night and to my surprise a person came to check the connection today. (Hats Off ACT Broadband)He checked the connection, nothing was wrong with the router or the settings on my laptop. Then he checked the wire and told me that there is a fiber cut. (Yet again)I asked him, how much time it will take to rectify. His Response : "Sir, I don't have any clue as it is handled by a different team. I can only forward the update and its upto them now". (Very professional, the customer can go to hell now)I asked him to provide me the no. of someone from that team. His response : "As per the policy, I cannot do that".So, I am now confused about how much time it will take for my issue to be fixed. For everyone's information, it took 5 days for the 1st time, 3 days the 2nd time to fix the issue.Another piece of information : Last time when the issue happened, I called the customer care and told them that I need a waiver for 5 days as my internet was down for 5 days.Their response : "Sir, I am sorry but who told you that you can get a waiver".I lost my mind and literally started shouting at them. I told them it was not my fault. It was a fault from your end.I demanded to talk to a manager, they connected me to someone and after a weeks's struggle, I finally got a waiver of 4 days.So the summary of my experience with ACT Broadband in the last two months :No. of days I used the internet : 52 days (61-5-3)No. of days I called the Customer care : 20 days and 5-6 times per dayThe amount of frustration : I can't express it in wordsSatisfaction in percentage : 0% as I am not at all satisfied with the serviceThe people who are working in ACT Broadband has a very laid back attitude. They think they are the kings of this world. They will do the work whenever they want. They don't have a clue about what is customer satisfaction.

Dear Techdude

welcome to ACT

To avoid the login everytime, you can go for wifi router(either from company or market) which can be configured for automatic login (PPPoE).

Btw you dont pay anything to the engineers and do let us know the person name or atleast your customer ID to identify the person.
we will take necessary action to avoid such things infuture.

can you give more details as to how to setup the PPPoE? i am using a Apple airport express. I tried the pppoe setting with my portal username and password but didnt work. Is there a way to avoid portal login every time? the problem of religion happens when the electricity is lost. I then need to first connect the ethernet cable to laptop, login to the portal and shift the cable back to wifi router. It remembers the password then. But once the electricity is lost again i need to repeat all over.

is there a way to make ACT "always on" as in case of airtel?

Hi. Looks like the PPPoE configuration was not saved hence lost after power cycle, pl try again if not drop me message with your customer ID and I will ensure our NE to configure the same.

Btw pl note the Airtel router also works on the same concept which requires the username and password stored on dsl router.

Rgds

No, it's not working. The pppoe is not getting authenticated the first time :( what username password service name should I give? Is it the same as the portal login? Is there a known issue with Apple airport express?

As expected, ACT Broadband technician promised something and didn't deliver. As ACT Broadband people never call you if their is some issue with the internet connection, I have to call them as I didn't hear from them for about 3 hours.I called them at 3 PM, he told me that issue will be fixed by 6 PM.Now I am posting this reply from my phone GPRS connection as I don't have the "ACT Broadband" internet connection.I think ACT Broadband enjoys harassing their customers and they love to laugh at our misery.I have used Airtel Broadband in the past and I must say that brand value matters.I have never faced such a situation with Airtel in 4 years. And, I don't know why, ACT advertises so much if they are not equipped to deliver the service. We are living in Bangalore, the IT hub of India. Its not a village where this attitude will work.ACT Broadband is making a mockery of their customer. When it comes to take the money, they will call you 10 times a day but when it comes to fix the issue, everyone is busy as if they are the prime minister of India. This is really poor customer service.

It's been 4 days now after i got the ACT broadband connection and i should say tham i'm satisfied. I was initially bit hesitant to go for this unknown brand and now i dont regret my decision here. i'm in 10 mbps plan and im constantly getting aroung 1.5 mbps of download speed in torrents . I'm new to this type of speedy and really amazed.

OK. so far i didnt face any problems.

I have earlier used Airtel and Reliance in Bangalore and the same along with BSNL in chennai . All of these connections i have faced lot of troubles especially with reliance .

A lot of downtime, irresponsible cc, waiver not giving, slow speed .. u name it and i have faced it earlier. Of all these the cable cut is the biggest problem.

You believe it or not, there are seriously some guys out there , who make there life by just stealing these cables. With reliance , once the technician has taken me to the place and shown how many complaints they receive because of intentional cable cut. Normally these companies are giving contracts to sub vendors to take care of buying and maintaining this cables. As these guys are very local guys without much money , it takes couple of days for them to rotate the money and replace the cables. (this is from my prev experience, with lot of complaints , i was like quite known to the local technical guys and they started sharing me there difficults in solving the problems.)

There is no point in blaming the technical teams as they are not getting enough fund to replace cables . This is the problem with the big corporates and their stupid process who least care about their customer satisfaction. Once they get the money from you are of no use to them till the next billing and hence the requests raised for fund replace to cables and all are being delayed by them.

Again, i'm just a witness here and saying what happened in my case !..

There was no show till 2. PM today. I called the sales guy and he assured me will look into that immediately. As said within 4 o clock a guy came and gave the connection. It took hardly 20 min for him as the box was very near to my room. Ran the speed tests and was impressed very much. I'm able to get around 1.5mb/s in torrents. i'm happy that they provided the service within the mentioned time.. Kudos to ACT team as they are able to achieve what the so called corporates (Airtel and reliance) cannot.

if can somebody help me on adding images to the post, I can share the speedtest results.

As said, here is the Speedtest results for me. thank you all for letting me know how to post images here.

Whether ACT broadband service is available in "Aisshwarya Opulence" --on Outer Ring road, Marathahlli... If not ...then by what time we can expect the same. It will be good if you can suggest a proper time frame that we can expect the service

Hi ACTian,
Any update. I have asked you the same question one month back. Can you kindly get back. Thanks

I feel like I have been cheated, I went against most of the comments on thie review and took the 10 Mb connection; the experience has been far from satisfactory, the connection is very inconsistent. I have only got the promised 10 MBPS maybe once or twice.

is just one of the many seed test that I did and this is just a server based in New Delhi. This is seriously sad.
