750 bucks for 2GB is actually cheaper than some of their broadband plans where you end up paying as much as 550 rupees per GB of data transfer after crossing the data transfer limit.

I was talking about 3G plans not their bb plans. so the plans suck Big tym!

what i was saying is that any company charging more for their landline broadband compared to their 3G platform is INSANE.

Ok.. I have been trying to figure out how good the Rs. 40 TV quality is on the phone. Anybody with any experience so far?

i believe mobile tv would need a special app that is provided by the mobile service provider right? are they even prepared to support diff mobile platforms like android and iPhone and others?

Companies like Stel may have a slight edge as boz they spent very less in acquiring licenses. It has only three licenses in HP,orissa and Bihar/jharkhand and paid just 350 cr for it. Same is the case for Idea which acquired 11 licenses for just some 5K cr. Lets see their pricing, may be they can give a ray of hope for this born-dead 3G services.

well that might work for the people living in those areas. the thing with airtel and vodafone is that they would have to cover the entire country. so their pricing matters more to a broader section of the society :P

Not to my knowledge. BSNL's MymobiTV worked with the BB browser which has Java support. And that is only in the beginning till things fizzled out in BSNL style. Twas like watching a youtube video on moble phone using wlan. Very pixelated and lots of sputtering.

I wonder how airtel's offering would be..

java app should work fine on android. what about iPhone. heh. they would need to develop an app as per Apple's design and code guidelines and get it approved from the company. mobile tv is a rather stupid concept in its current format i guess.
