if service providers in the country start doing what the actual users want, things would be different :)

well said :cool2:

High speeds provide a rich interacting experience for average users; and some need high volume fast download/upload speeds. Why not keep them separate and payment is based on volume of traffic. A time'volume/cost meter can run continuously and warn the user in case his set limits are near. I would prefer such a plan. But the plans 3000 and 5000 for 20 and 50GB are atrocious.

yeap. a better plan would be 16 mbps at a fair price set for every GB consumption. no Rs. 2-3-4-5 per MB please. even 50 rupees per GB sounds fair compared to these plans.

is this some kind of joke? first airtel's 8 mbps plan, then tata starts its 100 mbps plan with FUP, then reliance starts its plans with 10 GB cap & now again airtel's 16 mbps plans.usually i hate the public sector but in case of broadband, its the private sector that pisses me off.

thats all that this is.... a cruel joke

now trai must come with "speed/data transfer under the speed" regulation.now isp are distorting the word"unlimited" under fair usage policy.if it is charged after certain data limit it will not be termed as unlimited as reliance evdo broadband is doing.

Most Airtel plans are impractical.....and now they have irritant called Fair Usage Policy.I used the home 2222plus (1 mbps plan-unlimited) for 18 months, and dumped them when they came up with their FUP.:thumb:

IPTV has no connection to broadband speeds.

Of course it has. IPTV needs live streaming video to flow and certain QoS needs to be met. Among those QoS parameters average download rate is also important. If the download rate for the specified compression format cannot be met, the quality of the video suffers, frames will be dropped. HD requires higher bitrate.

16 Mbps is the bandwidth allocated till the Airtel network. IPTV transfers also happens with this bandwidth and hence it has connection.

Thanks but my seedbox is faster and much much cheaper than Airtel
