Today I registered for a new broadband connection from Airtel. The response from the Customer Care is swift. :Olympic:
a. I have registered for connection on Airtel Website.
b. After two minutes I got a call from Chennai Airtel Cutomer Care Executive.
c. She asked for the details and explained all the available plans.
d. She also suggested that to "Don't go right away to 16Mbps or 8Mbps Plans.
e. So I opted for 4Mbps 80GB FUP.
f. She told me they have to check for the feasibility of my location.
g. After 15 minutes, she called again and told me that my location is feasible for broadband Access.
i. After 4 hours, I got a call from Airtel broadband from bangalore location and confirmed for the connection.
j. After 1 hour again got a call from Airtel Bangalore and was told that a person has been sent to collect some documents like address proof, ID proof and a passport size photo.
k. Within half an hour local call from an Airtel customer business executive called me and I met him followed by submitting my documents and signed the registration form. :Mates:
l. He warned me "NOT TO GO FOR HIGH SPEED PLANS AS OF NEW CONNECTION".He also gave me a suggestion that I have to :Wait: for a month to check whether the proposed speed is coming or not. Then "YOU CAN OPT TO 16Mbps /8Mbps.".
m. He told me that the new connection will be installed in 4 working days.
This was happened in a SINGLE DAY. I will be posting what will happen Next. :doofywave:

Congrats. You probably won't be given 8/16 mbit speeds depending on the distance of your residence from the exchange. It should be less than a KM or something.
In my 9 years with Airtel, I've always been happy with their service. The only downside is their tariff is expensive.

For this price, you'll only get 30GB @4mbps in Delhi or Chennai. For 80GB @4mbps, you'll have to pay up Rs. 2099.
Bangalore gets special prices. The rest of us are lesser mortals. :-P

@balajik 9 years with Airtel O_o :worthy:
Have you got any special offers from Airtel for being the most loyal customer ? :playful:
I know they give retention plans to Airtel Digital Tv users.Few days before a friend got 55% off on annual package.
Airtel is too expensive that too with FUP limits :(
Dont u have any other ISP in your area ?

I have BSNL and possibly Tikona and Reliance as alternatives. ACT might come to my neighborhood soon.
No, I don't receive any special treatment. But, I'm happy with their customer service.
It's expensive and I'm on 175GB plan. If there are any comparable plans from an alternative ISP, I'd look into it.
Airtel offers me peace of mind. Between the BSNL Dial-Up era and Airtel Broadband, I used Sify Broadband for an year in 2004. It was a nightmare.
When BSNL first launched broadband in January 2005, I gladly dropped Sify. I was happy with BSNL but they offered unlimited bandwidth @256kbps only till June 2005. After that, the monthly usage quota was only 1 GB. That's when I switched to Airtel who had a 256 kbps unlimited plan.

If you have reliance then y stick to Airtel ?
The reliance thunder plans are quite cheap and AFAIK speeds are stable too.
Tikona and BSNL both sux bigtime :D

What about the uptimes and customer service on Reliance?
There was a flyer at my door about Reliance thunder plans only recently. That's how I knew it's available.
