Who forced airtel, reliance and others to bid so high that now they are not be in position to come up with affordable plans. I think to some extent government is also responsible for this situation and then new commers in the Indian Telecommunication Industry take the bid to high values and then simply get out of the process and thus player like airtel and reliance left with no option

I am from ND,dwrka .planning to change Airtel connection...Should I go to MTNL or RELIANCE combo plans..please suggest... I am on Home649 @512kbps now speed is 256kbps with 5gb Fair Usage Policy...crap:frown:

Get some good plan of MTNL, they do not use tips and tricks to make customers fool. Their bill is also simple for eg. I am using 1 Mbps Unlimited plan I got bill as Rs. 999+ Rs 50(modem rent ) + tax. I think MTNL hai to sahi hai, and reliance is too in your list I just want to say never buy wireless net connection from reliance is is wastage of money.I

I have no idea about modem cost, Taking modem from MTNL had advantage that you need not to worry for it, You can use it i very rough manner too as if if modem stops working then MTNL always change it.

***Second thing is that is MTNL doesn't get the chance to say to you that your modem is Malfunctioning, MTNL lineman's use these words some times even if they dont know any thing about modem and ADSL

i observed yesterday that Airtel has started offering 4 mbps (Rs. 150/hr) within SOD (Speed on Demand). However, the downloading speed did not cross 220 KB/sec at any point of time. I tried everything from multiple torrents to direct downloads but it did not even reach 250 let alone going to the 512 mark. Has anyone tried this and observed the same?

your connection might be capped only upto 2mbps. check "Line Rate - Downstream" in your modem

You are right about this..what can i do to increase that cap..since airtel has provided this 4 mbps in SOD..there should be a way to get that to work right??

Guys read this, I think this article will prove that NO Private ISP thinks about the customers, they are indulge in making crap policies that too by sitting together and the Association is COAI. Tata telecome making some serious allegation on others quit from their. Here is the link
Angry Tata quits COAI, points at Airtel...
