Yes, my sync rate is 2560 down 576 up. Everyone with 1 mbps sync rate have been getting around 100 KB/s upload speed. which plan are you on?

@xyz that Airtel chap is talking non-sense... email Airtel support. tell them that you use the BOD/SOD service when you need to upload large files... but whenever you avail the service your upload speed is not increased.... attach a screen shot of your sync rate stats. Mention that your neighbors or close friends get higher upload rate when they use BOD/SOD. Mention the name of the tech who gave you the bogus information, mention that he has been non-cooperative tell them that you want higher sync or you are done with Airtel.... all the old tricks to get some favors. If they call and say no to you then approach next lvl.There is no rule which specifies the upload bandwidth. If you don't get what others get its best to make Airtel either give you what you want or come up with a new policy of lower upload officially for everyone.One more thing... there is a good possibility that the higher sync may not UP your upload rate...at least not without BOD/SOD. Airtel can cap upload / download from your profile on their server also.But thats the best you can ask for..and get also if you play your cards well.Airtel can be pressured unlike BSNL where wat the babu says is law.GOOD LUCK!:inodding:

well the fact remains... airtel does not specify or promise the upload speeds. none of the broadband service providers in india reveal that information. mtnl and bsnl i believe give terrible upload speeds on faster plans (1mbps 2mbps 4mbps). airtel gives the same on plans till 512kbps and it usually is 512kbps for 1mbps and 2 mbps users (i think). it might be faster for people on 8mbps and 16mbps.

no matter what plan r u in 512kbps r 1mbps r 2 mbps the upload speed is limited to 512kbps im not sure of 8mbps n 16mbpsafaik max upload speed in airtel is only 512kbps!!!

Since its not specified... can mean 2 things either you agree with airtel and take what you get... or nail them with what you want.... they can't ignore you.If people can get expired plans by just threatening to switch ISP... then this thing would work just the same... just play your cards well.@raj do u have any documented information on specified speeds then make your point..otherwise don't bother. :notallowed:

they are giving decent upload speeds without us asking for it.

most ISPs around the world give shitty upload speeds.

most other ISPs in India do the same.

I have seen speedtest images here with people getting 1mbps+ download speeds but uploads were in 100-200kbps range.

blah. never mind... people would again accuse me of 'supporting' airtel and their policies.

from what i see, they are providing a better deal compared to mtnl and bsnl.

well when my connection was installed (384 K unltd) i asked the backend (NOC) guy abt upload speed, he told me that Airtel doesnt give any commitment abt upload speed but i have always found it to be equal to my download speed except in the night when my DL speed doubles to 1 Mbps and upload remains at 512 K..even while using BOD my upload speed remains 512 K ..but i aint complaining coz its good enough speed..other ADSL isp's (even internationally) can be very tight fisted when it comes to Upload speeds..but considering the fact that there is no written rule at airtel abt Uploads maybe some people do intentionally or unintentionally get faster uploads

the only time i hated my upload speeds were when i used to upload backups to server in case the site was hacked or corrupted. i started taking backups on Amazon s3 to escape those situations.
