Airtel is now hard capping speeds on Xstream broadband plans

Same for me. Used to get 50 on 40 plan now it's always 35-38 and buffering issues while streaming.

I thought I was the only one getting less than Plan speed i.e 37-38 on 40 Plan or 290 on 300 Plan.

@jitender57 brother the entire thread is about this topic, seems like they hardcapped in most, if not all locations.

I don't think it would be any different with a static IP

Now I don’t even get plan speed. It’s 5% below plan speed. The capping behaviour during downloads also seems to be different and the throttle is too aggressive so I barely maintain 30 MBps on my 300 Mbps connection. Plus the download speed is not constant and fluctuates a lot. Previously, I used to hit a constant 48 MBps while downloading large files.

Yeah I noticed that too. It's mostly below the plan speed now for me too. Doesn't cross 23 MB/s in a 200 plan in Epic Games and Steam downloads. Pathetic

@RKhan21 how come you're paying 300 on airtel? I am paying 499+GST for 40 mbps.

I was downloading from Steam today, and I think the hard cap is 23-23.5MB/s (200 plan) irrespective of the server you select. I selected the closest server btw in which I used to get 28-29 MB/s till last week with ipv4 only. A solid 5-6MB/s loss

Also, No more dual stack speeds either.

What's funny is, I was on ACT till January before switching to Airtel, and they were providing the same speed on a 150Mbps plan (which Airtel gives on a 200Mbps plan now.)
