"Priority Postpaid is implemented in a content-neutral manner and is fully consistent with the existing TRAI and DoT framework. There is no blocking, throttling, content-specific prioritisation, zero-rating, or preferential treatment of any application," Airtel said.
they could have quietly implemented it for postpaid users. and it would probably have been just fine. announcing it as a priority lane for pr just creates unnecessary controversy. if jio/trai have problems with it, it would get blocked no matter what their pr ai engine blurts to defend it.
I switched to postpaid a few days ago and their app claims my S26 Ultra is not compatible with priority 5g and I should upgrade my handset. Have escalated it and they keep repeating that their system shows it as not compatible. Am getting 5g SA almost all the time and the plan shows as priority on the app after escalation but the network name doesn’t show priority and the app still shows my handset as not compatible. It shows my older S23 Ultra as compatible! It seems like Airtel planned this a few months back and S26 Ultra wasn’t included as it had not been launched.
