The new iPad has heating issues I would suggest you to go for s3 btw happy birthday in advance 
There's no heating issue. Yes it's warmer than my OG iPad but nothing which you'll call hot or uncomfortable. Just got mine from HK last week (32 gb wifi for Rs 32k)and tested it with IB2 and RR2 running continously for over 4 hours. Retina display is awesome and once you use it, you won't want to go back to lower dpi screens ever again.
It's not completely flawless though. The screen does have yellow tint issues on one corner. The reason behind it is (supposedly) the glu which is used to keep the digitiser and the screen/glass together. Most people claim that it goes away in a couple of weeks. It seems to be the case with mine too. It looks like its improved in the last 4 days. Still not 100% sure though. If it doesn't fix itself by the time iPad is launched in media officially, I'll get it replaced under warranty. Hopefully I won't need to do that.
The other problem is that it takes almost 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100. Not an issue if you leave it charging over night. But still I wish Apple had provided a faster charging solution.
The yellow tint issue aside, new iPad is as close to perfection as it could be. Unless you hate apple/iOS for whatever reason, it's THE tablet worth your money. now I just need to find some good screen guard and case for it. Don't want it to endup like my OG iPad, all banged up from all the corners

It's not launched in India so yeah, the prices in local market will be too much more than what it should be. It should cost somewhere around 34k for 16 gb + 3/4G model. And I don't know why you think iPad/other tabs are good only for surfing. It does more than that. A lot more. Depending on your computing requirements, it can work as a total PC replacement too. Its eliminated my need for a pc/mac altogether. I'll probably get an iMac late this year or next year but as far as portable computing is concerned, the new iPad is more than what I need. But again, it depends on our personal requirements. The form factor of tablets make them a winner IMO unless you need a laptop for your professional work. I only need a laptop for basic spreadsheets and ipad 3 is pretty much as good as my MacBook was for that.

These are apparently the Indian prices. Pretty cool considering Asus is charging 50K for their only variant of Transformer Prime in the Indian market.
Apple is doing a good job pricing the iPad in India. Sadly, the same does not apply to the iPhone.

well. you are forgetting that integrating similar capabilities in a smaller package requires more expensive components. also, the iPhone has cellular hardware which adds to the cost of the device. plus, Apple has preferred to stay in the premium segment in the phone market. they are targeting the mid-range with the older generation ipad here in india. still amuses me that they hiked the price of iphone 4 in india when they launched the iphone 4s. that was a rather weird move.
