just came back from delhi from the same expressway. forget the long jam on the toll plaza itself... i saw a major jam after the cars had crossed the toll plaza. at least around 7-8KM long jam... for the cars 'going' towards delhi. thankfully i was coming back from delhi and the situation was not that bad.
heh. some more not so likable news...

Adding a political masterstroke to the event, Mr. Pawar proposed naming the sea link after Rajiv Gandhi, an idea which was welcomed.
Mr. Pawar likened the state-of-the-art cable-stayed bridge to the ones in San Francisco.
“It is an example of the miracles engineers are capable of,” he said.
“Mumbai is an embodiment of secularism. The city becoming an international financial centre will be a matter of great pride for the citizens of this country. This can happen only when development work is ongoing. The sea link will ease the traffic woes of the people and enhance the city’s beauty,” Ms. Gandhi said.

However, the local fishermen community in the area is upset with the concrete marvel in sea.
\"We can't travel on it. We will get no benefit out of it but there will be a lot of problems for us because of it,\" says fisherman Krishnachand Shantaram.
\"You see yourself. Do you see any fish over here? Earlier we use to get a lot. Now there is nothing,\" fisherman Ashok Kohli points out.
The fishermen are not able to find a catch even seven to 10 kilometers off shore. They fishermen claim that after the construction of the sea link, their average catch dipped by 60 per cent even though they now venture much further into the sea then they did earlier.
Even, environmentalists claim the sea link has adversely affected the flourishing colonies of fishes and other marine life near the coastline and that it has also drastically affected the tidal wave movement near the Bandra-Worli sea face, thereby irreparably damaging the city's storm water drainage system.

Rajiv Gandhi was a great man, but its strange and fully opportunistic decision by Cong & NCP to name the bridge after him. We already have few bridges named after him in Pune (and could in several cities in other part of country) then why again his name?No one can do better politics then Cong
