Success of S3 will depend on what price it sells at. Also exact specs of it are still not available. At least I havent read them anywhere. It really is a mystery why Samsung did away with the Galaxy R! It was a good phone at its price.
Samsung is doing an Apple with the S3. From what I see, they are playing very safe with S3. And as i mentioned somewhere else on the forum, they have to get it right. Which means, it would feature a design that would differ from the current S2. To avoid more patent hassles from Apple in markets around the world. And since it would probably arrive in the market before iPhone 5 and would remain their premium phone for the next 6-7 months, they need to come up with something very special to make it a solid challenger to a phone that is not even launched yet. By the way, I think the more exciting phone to come would be the Note 2.
Galaxy R is one in the long list of errors of Samsung.
The funniest one is the upgradation to ICS with such a customized TouchWiz, that it's almost identical to GB. And the lame reason they gave was " they do not want to change an interface that millions of its users have now gotten used to".
LOL. let's see if they use the same fcuked up version of ICS in S3
touchwiz is one of the many reasons i am not going to go for s3. even though i am sure that samsung would surprise us with the specifications and even price!
From all accounts Sense 4 is good, not as heavy as Sense 3.x. So this should work in HTC's favor. I am a big fan of the Sense UI. It is what distinguishes HTC from other androids.
i do not like the distinguish! have been a stock android user for more than 2 years now. this is going to be weird. not getting updates within months of release would be sad. i do get some benefits like 25GB Dropbox for just two years though

i have heard a lot abt Sense UI. Many ppl say it's the best customized UI compared to Motoblur and Touchwiz.

is it better than motoblur?
Motoblur is irritating at best. Hate how Motorola tries to be a smart ass with their Android phones. Sense definitely is way ahead of either Motoblur or Touchwiz, and was the prime reason why Android handsets started picking up. However, with ICS, I don't feel the need for a 'mature' UI to deal with the OS, as it natively is pretty good.
