i have my own fresh issues.

i updated from 2.3.6 to 4.0.3 manually using a build available from Google servers.

Google has now released 4.0.4 build and I cannot install it using the same route.

There is a long thread on XDA about how Google has blocked the installation and the only way out is to use ClockworkMod. :|

Nexus S (GSM) android 4.0.4 Official update (with download links !!) - xda-developers

now i wonder if i would get the OTA on my phone!

That's a eye opener for stock ROM. i am waiting for Galaxy Nexus To be Launched, Mainly for it's stock Rom and the ability to get instant updates Like IOS.

^ Don't depend on that too much. There is much difference between Flipkart and Letsbuy. From the moment that you order a phone from Flipkart, you will get delivery within 24-48 hours in most metros. However, with Letsbuy the shipping periods are longer. So even if you order from Letsbuy today, they would take atleast 5-7 days to deliver it. So you are still likely to get it from Flipkart first. Not to mention that it would not be the most prudent thing to do to order at the current listed price (37.8k) when it seems that once released the price may come down to 35-36K levels. If you order now at the listed price, they would be under no obligation to refund any difference in price, and it would be only at their discretion (i.e. kindness) whether they would choose to do so or not. Best to wait till it appears in the physical market to get the best price. And you would not melt if you don't get the phone the exact second it releases.

looks like htc guys are not interested in catering to fans of their phones. my dealer friend has been trying to get one unit of one x for me since morning and their delhi suppliers are not responding to him. not even picking up the phone. i am tempted to order it online. but it is annoying.

@admin - You mentioned getting it at 35.5k . But the website above says 34+ ... But not sure about the website reliability itself. I would say you should get it at much less than 35.5 if the website itself can sell at 34+

that's why i said that i am tempted to order it online. fact remains, everyday a new deal would be available and new pricing levels would be touch. i can wait for 10 days and i would probably save a thousand or two more. money is not the core issue here. my friend is selling it at the price he would pay to the company. i have tweeted buytheprice asking them if they have a white unit in stock. if they have, i would probably order through them tomorrow. if i am to get the black/grey unit, i would order it through my friend...

I doubt that the white unit will be available here. HTC and others have a poor track record of offering colour options in India. I am just glad that they are at least on time. They said April first week, and give or take a few days they seem to be operating on time. Compare this to the Galaxy Nexus that was supposed to be released in January. In fact, even with the HTC Desire, it took them an extra couple of months to release it. If you are really keen on the white one, I would suggest you wait till at least next week. It would suck to buy a brown / black one and then see that the white one is also available. Also, do not trust Flipkart on the colour options. When I was buying the HTC Desire from them a couple of years ago, their website said it's a black version. As this was only available AFAIK in the UK I even called them and e-mailed them, and they confirmed it was the black version. But when I received it from them, sure enough it was the brown one. I didn't care enough to fight with them especially given the high unlikeliness of the black one coming to India, so that was the end to it. But yeah, that's where going to a physical brick and mortar shop can occasionally be better. Also Sushubh, when you do manage to get your One X, do let me know your address, so that I can come and rob you. Okthxbye. :p

hehe. you are right. flipkart and other stores now have the black colored model in the images.

looks like white is indeed not available right away. looks like i can wait or go for the grey colored one.

i am not much interested in getting a white phone. ics (and gingerbread) looks good with black colored phone. though i have to admit that one x looks better in white than in grey.

in any case, i would have the phone in a case (as soon as i can locate one) so color does not matter. entire body would be covered with a cheapo plastic protection. :P

mhm. just decided to wait for the white colored version. should take a couple of days/weeks. fcuk it.
