broadband connection is now connected

when i connect my broadband it says in the yellow box that
broadband connection is now connected
speed 10.0 mbps

this means that the speed from the pc to the router is 100 mbps. in other words, the line speed is 100 mbps. You, in no way, will get a 100 mbps bandwidth unless you have bsnl ftth fibro 100 83999 plan :) (atleast until hayai is launched)
 
yes many people confuse the LAN speed with their broadband plan speed,A friend who was not a internet user earlier started using BSNL BB, and recently had me pull my hairs by saying this again & again"my broadband is 100mbps" I explained him, but he says, no you are using old plan and modem but mine is certainly 100mbps, and I left his place for him to enjoy this dream.

That is the speed of LAN connection, not your broadband connection. It just means that the door is large enough for 20 people to cross at the same time. But in actual there may be one or two. If you are facing " Limited or No connectivity ", configure a static IP. Check your LAN card too. Just pull it out, clean the slot using a brush and put it back.

Which plan do you use ? Will be able to give some idea only if we know the plan you use.
