Yes .BSNL 3G data card is rocking.I live in bangalore and speeds are mind blowing.Speeds easily go up to 7.6 Mbps.Fully satisfied. The max speed which i got was 35.33 Mbps was an occasional spike which lasted for about 15 mins .Minimum speeds i get are above 4 Mbps which is amazing.BSNL 3G rocks.

Which part of Bangalore is this? and how is the real-estate there? ;)
btw, u seem to have attached a wrong URL :)

You can try for MDMA like this after connecting to the internet, in Windows Task manager, end process of your application SW of BSNL data card (in processes tab, without closing in application tab). And not disconnect or close the application SW you are using. Then double click the MDMA application file (100K).

@Dushie

Thanks for confirming 7.2Mbps towers. Only after a month's time, I am planning to add some antennas.

Ramli, cont me in, i am also interested in getting a good antenna. The ones being sold locally are not that good. As at my friends place in Kormangala when i saw the 92% signal strength the connectivity was very good and no disconnection issues at all. Plus the QOS also went up.

So if i can bump up my current signal strength from 65 - 70's to high 90's i am sure the QOS will improve and speeds will be better with less ping times.

As my router is already on its way, should get it by end of next week, and i am sure the signal in that location will be less.

So definitely buying an antenna is on the card, i am also doing some search on the same, and i find this one :-

i do not think antennae would give you more speeds. signal strength for my umg1831 is 99% but i still have the same speed i got with a strength of 50%(different location). i feel that , only the number of users per area has anything to do with speed and not the signal strength. just to not let you waste money.

3G Dual Band Dipole Antenna 9dBi

I have seen the antenna link. 1.7 to 2.1Ghz compatible. The cable has SMA connector. So to connect to the Huawei modem, you need another reducer cable with CRC9 connector.

I have done TV DXing in 80s. And then calculating, plotting, fabricating and constructing C band dish antenna ( 12' 18' dia ) well before the entry of satellite tv in India ( By Star TV ) and received Russian and Chinese TV channels only. So building 3G antennas is not a problem. It is an interesting thing to be experienced.

Since I have some important personal work will take another one month or more to try them. ( Yagi, Cantenna, discarded dish, biquad etc. I will inform you then. )

To get good speeds not only number of users connected to the Tower matters, the strength of the every user also matters.

Not all the users connected are getting equal speeds. Simply because we are connected, can not get good speed.

Users connected with more signal strength will get more speeds than the user with poor signal strength.

Let us try some antennas. Nothing harm in trying to increase the signal strength. It will help others with poor signal also. Wasting money depends upon the spender's decision.

Ramli, do you think it would benefit a user when he's already getting 95-98% signals ? I don't think it would make much difference when signals are already on 90's level Let me check if i can get hold of any Antenna from local friend if he has, however I am not having any 21+ mbps modem to test it :-(

It would be more appropriate to know the signal strength in dBm in MDMA than mere % . Moreover Dushie wants to increase his 60-70s to 90s.

You had HSDPA display in MDMA unlike my HSD+UPA. What is your data card's model.

@ramli when i use Huawei UMG1831 the signal strength is -73to-83 dBm and signal is HSD+UPA in MDMA but still my download speed is not crossing even 200kBps..

Any idea y it is behaving like this..

Ramli thanks for the input. My signal strength in BSNL 3G is : -83dBmModem is Huawei 160X (Modem was K3565 earlier, although got it unlocked, i flashed it many times with newer firmwares, however speed problem occurred way before i flashed it first time so its not modem)RAT: is shown as 3G in idle and HSDPA when data is being sent/receive.
