Hi, I am Ramaswamy from KGF Karnataka. I have a broadband connection from BSNL Home BB plan with unlimited download. Recently i bought a laptop and installed a router. It works on and off. If i remove the router it is fine. I feel they are blocking. Do i need permission to install a router. I could not get clarification from local exchange.

How to enable DHCP in modem. When I click on Modem it does not have any thing to enable. I am not computer litrerate- how do I do it?
I will do the changes in TCP?IP later as i will lose the connection now.

Huawei modem AX MT882.
IMPORTANT:
when you open modem menu pages go to Management and select
BACKUP and save present settings to say C:/My Documents/MT882 dialer mode.
You can restore this later if any problem.

SEE this link and make your connection PPP/PPPoE.
The little I know about Dataone Broadband Services offered by BSNL
In LAN page enable DHCP and give range 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.10
Save REBOOT wait for two minutes.

To access modem see this screen shot.

4. Mention details of D-Link router number such as dsl502T Glb802C etc.
If possible use the Wizard mode.
5. To post ipconfig /all
In computer desktop//laptop
START RUN
type cmd
OK
New window( note space after ipconfig)
type ipconfig /all
