well. i am still annoyed at airtel. smartbytes is there. and they continue to claim that i had consumed 3GB data which even their backend cannot account for. :) i guess i can lower my expectations a bit. the primary thing bugging me right now is that i am going to keep paying airtel 100 bucks every day for their airtel connection until i make a decision on what to do eventually :)i guess i should not make an instant opinion about bsnl. they have done a much better job of delivering the service. even though i paid a 100 rupee bribe to the wiring guys. no they did not ask for it. but they were sort of getting annoying waiting for something to happen even after their job was done. i ended up asking them what is an expected payment for a prompt service. they said it's your call sir. i just had a 100 rupee note in my wallet. gave it to them and they left. not annoyed. it was expected. it is like dealing with beggars actually. either you tolerate them or you give them a few rupees and they would leave you alone. just that in this specific case, new beggars would not jump on you as soon as you pay one of them. :D

should mention here that general browsing seems to be very pleasant. youtube videos seem to load at decent pace as well. raw downloads seems to be the problem right now.

upload speeds look pretty bad.

and modem backend only works for like the first few minutes after a restart. cannot load 192.168.1.1 at all.

First of all congrats for your bsnl BB....
The one thing i noticed that the rate(Kbps) on your modem stats are 3999 493 which are quite low for your plan (4mbps)
Whereas im subscribed to 1000 plan 2mbps@15gb then 256kbps but my line stats are(cant post image due to wire cut of my landline by a construction work)the reading i always get are rate(Kbps) 4096 1024 & my speedtest under 2mbps plan are

For complaints most preferred options are:
1. call the person at exchange or the installation guy(the best option)
2. call 1500 to get your complaint registered...

the rate(kbps) has to be changed from your bsnl SSA,i had the same prob after upgrading from uld 750 plan my max speed on 2mbps plan was same as on 750 plan, so got my profile updated at bsnl office...now it works fine

so maybe it is the setting in the backend that is causing the slow speeds? i hope this manoj guy is helpful when i call tomorrow.

yes, but still there is a lot of difference between your rate(kbps) and your actual speedtest....by those stats you should be getting down speeds around 2~2.5mbps and up around 300~400kbps..calling manoj will be your best bet......
