Anthony N Nishat: Thanks for the prompt reply.

In the 4th line:

WAIT "Password"

Do I have to replace the "Password" with "admin" which is the password of the admin account of my modem?

Nopes u have to replace in the SEND line (in case the password is not admin) just after that u see it is sending the password as admin. So dont worry it should work fine, if ur password is admin

Anthony N Nishat:I did as you told. This is what i get:Product Information Model Number GLB-502T HW Revision P1R4 USB PID 0x6060 USB VID 0x0451 Ethernet MAC 00:17:7C:00:4B:46 DSL MAC N/A USB MAC 00:E0:A6:66:41:EC USB Host MAC 00:E0:A6:66:41:E1 Software Versions Gateway 3.7.0B Software Version 3.7.0B.0 ATM Driver 5.00.07.01 DSL HAL 5.00.05.00 DSL Datapump 6.01.04.00 Annex A SAR HAL 01.07.2b PDSP Firmware 0.52 Boot Loader 1.2.1.5 Apparently the Ethernet MAC's 12 digit is still a zero instead of a 1. I am at my wits end.rational

as i mentioned earlier, the Ethernet MAC stays that way, notice that DSL MAC has changed to NA. So the patch is successful, continue with your configuration. You should be able to connect to BSNL with bridge mode.

Even if the patch is successful the router gets disconnected every 3-4 minutes. Maybe the problem is from the exchange as when I go to the connection status page it shows that the PPPOE is disconnected and the reason for disconnection is "DSL Line is Disconnected".

to Anthony : you are aware that community forums

Differences between Bridged mode & PPPoE had been
discussed on the forums here . pls use search feature

I have applied the patch and my PPPoE is up and working!!! I have been connected to the internet for about 30 minutes now and so far no problems.Thank you Nishant and everyone here who made this possible.rational

Dear friends I dunno if its the patch that worked for me or not, but my modem is online now for more than 5 hours. I wasn't sure but just to try it I placed my modem vertically now, as it was placed horizontaly before. I believe it was the heat generated inside the modem that caused the disconnections because now when its on for 5 hrs when I touched it, it was cooler than the previous position. I know it sounds funny but its a truth.

I dont think its heat,my modem is lying horizontally even without the rubber supports provided with modem and it hasnt disconnect ever other then power fluctution and manually restarting.

I am stiil not sure about the heat problem buddy but so far this is the only solution to my problem & I have also seen somewhere that the D-Link modems do have heat problem. Maybe its the placement of the modem in your case that it may not be getting that hot lying horizontally.
