I still remember the horrors of dialup speeds on Hathway (1-2 KBps) on a 64 kbps connection.. Even 256 kbps was poor.Average monthly outage of 20-30 hours spread across the month. Ofcourse this was a)In Chennai b) In 2005-2007/08The fact it was cheap with no alternate that kept me going for 2 years... Till Airtel @ 750 / 256kbps arrived at my doorstep. Again, feedback @ IBF had a huge influence in taking it up

i remember the days when you could have recommended airtel to anyone who had airtel available in their regions. no longer.

Yup.. I guess once they had sort of established a strong foothold, they simply stopped caring & focused on ways of just making money

i am currently following the tweets TO their Twitter account on my Twitter client. it is hilarious to see the kind of problems people report to them. they are still abusing their customers by charging them for VAS services on mobile. people still complain about illogical deductions from their prepaid balance. and so on.i am of course still waiting for them to fix my speed issues (getting 2mbps for the last 2-3 days). and the 3GB from my data quota are also missing.

avoid bsnl and if u want 4 mbps . the 4 mbps plan is total failure. u will get less than 1.5 mbps most of the time.

that is another major botheration. airtel actually give pretty close to 5mbps on my 4mbps line.
