A Possible +ve Guidance 2 every1 on Modem On/Off B4 & After 2-8 AM Unlimited Nite DL

I used to disconnect BB connection and the Modem before 2 AM and restart at 2.10 AM and again at 7.55/8.05 AM, fearing that the whole duration of downloading free down download may get charged !

many a times, a particular download (even 70% or more) may overlap 8 am barricade, i used to cancel the download at 7.50 am.

on 23/24 may (sat-sun), since my total bb usage (is) was well within the limit, i decided to continue the download of that particular file.
Gr8! thanks to God/BSNL - when i rebooted the pc and checked in the portal - i found the usage is counted only for the time from 8.00 am onwards.

Do verify the traffic on top and comment

again on 24th morning, same case with much more downloads.
usage was high.
but when i checked up the portal, the traffic was counted only for download after 8 am.
do compare the total usage and the net traffic calculated from the screenshot given below:

Thanks for sharing.If it is true, I can wish anything today. I am going to get it. Must be a miracle if BSNL fixed this. Been an issue for a very long time that people had enough time to write softwares. Please do not try this if you are low in your download limit. It can be some upgradation process in BSNL and it may change back without notice. In that case, all of your download during night (say 2 GB) will be charged. To check, switch off and On the modem at 7. 30 and try.
 
Recheck again. Since you continued beyond 0800AM usage is counted.115479 KB added to your usage quota.0403AM to 0823 AM. =114 MB approx 1MB=1024KBSince the file was small , you are within limit.We have to presume you downloaded ONLY after 0800AM.restart modem at about 0205 AM switch off modem around 0755 AM.

my experience automating the Nite UL download went futile in Kolkata.
powercut/voltage fluctuation does not permit me to keep the pc/connection on unattended. :wall::wall::wall:
other Kolkatans too would vouch for this.
may be other parts of india, one can risk keeping on the pc 24 hrs like my brother does in New York.
 
Well, a big thanks to Jai for sharing this +ve move from BSNL. But there is no official announcement regarding this. So we need to wait until BSNL confirms anything. Secondly, BSNL might be testing this feature. If this becomes final, then several NU users would be benefited.
