Some one please give the different ways to "Auto Disconnect" internet connection are a pre determined time .Thanks in advance.

You can use Imran's Broadband Helper Utility to automate the whole process. Click here to download.

Another method is using a batch file. Simply write some lines in notepad and save it as disconnect.bat.

Procedure :

Open notepad type the following

rasdial [connection name] /disconnect

Eg.

rasdial bsnl /disconnect
save the above file as disconnect.bat

Thanks for the info.

By using disconnect.bat method at what time will the connection disconnect or something else also has to be written ?

----------

Is there any utility for switching off the laptop at a pre determined time ?

Very simple. Just create a scheduled task from the control panel and run the disconnect.bat at desired time. You can run it at say 7.50 am ( In case of Night unlimited) or say 12.00 am if you like to download during night.

Auto power on and shut down can serve your purpose.

I downloaded this tiny program :
But still I couldn't find any program that will disconnect internet at 1.55 am and then reconnect at 2.05am and then again disconnect at 7.50 am :(

Imrans Broadband helper utility will do this for you.

Or you can make 2 batch files. 1 connect and 1 disconnect and schedule them to run at 1.50 am (D), 2.10 am (C) and 7.55 am (D).

----------

As mentioned in the earlier post Auto Power ON and Shutdown (it is a software) is a popular one.

Yes,but I didn't understand Imran's Broadband helper.

Why so much confusion for a simple funda :wall:

Just follow the simple few things and you will be in safer side ande take maximum of ur night-unlimited scheme.

1. sync ur PC time with time.windows.com
2. connect at 2:02AM - disconnect at 7:58 - connect at 7:58AM - disconnect at 8:28AM
3. all this connect/disconnect simply can be done through batch files with windows scheduler using the command rasdial

its as simple as that.
