Unsure, but if I have to guess, looks like the charges for a telephone instrument with caller line identification facility. Did you get a telephone instrument with the connection?

Regarding activation charges, the offers keep varying, so at times they might waive off the activation charges otherwise you are charged.

Can you guys please share the pic of bsnl dp box (fiber distribution box) in your near by area/street, the last point on a street pole from where the fiber cable directly comes to your house.

@SG_curiosity , you should not have had to ask me thrice for this. Sorry about that. Here are some pics.

👆 is the distribution box? I recollect the LCO playing around with it during installation.

👇this is another 'black box' on the same line😅. For cable tv maybe.

Also tell me how far is bsnl fiber dp box from your house?

It's just opposite the road. The images are taken from the ground floor of my house.

Will be glad to PM you any more pics you require of the outdoor and indoor wiring and of the network inside.

@eriek_halenx when you installed bsnl connection?
And can you tell if they charged you Rs250 as a voice activation charge or Rs529 or something like that as clip charge or other hidden charge in your first bill? Or can you just share your first month bill of bsnl ftth?

1. Mar 2019.

2. First bill was 2k. (Plan 1277). Later bills are 1.5k

3. I didn't really enquire. Sorry 😅.

4. Don't have the bill. I'll check if there is some e bill online and PM you.

Only wiring done till now. Provider has not installed the modem. He keeps making excuses about bsnl problems. Doesnt pick up calls most times. After persisting, he said that he hasnt got the "activation mail". While their sales guy already told me the phone number ive been allotted.
I dont understand why after 8 days these guys are unable to start my internet. I get it speeds might be slow, but whats stopping this nigga from getting it done.

Also major facepalm, my neighbour had connection from this same provider. I have contacted this guy twice before, but he never told me. On the plus side, they did fresh wiring for me from their junction box. And around 4-5 pairs of fibre are free and I can even get a railtel connection if I want using same fibre lol.

So the TIP guy filled the form for approving my connection on the Franchise portal on my pc. He put OLT as Syrotech.

When I tried to change to IPV6 like @varkey, It doesnt even connect. So I did some digging in and came across this -> Source

Halfway through, its written that apparently older firmwares of the Syrotech OLT dont support IPV6. That explains a lot.
