Bsnl ftth slow speed on 200mbps plan. New connection.

Hi, I took a new bsnl ftth connection this month. Opted for 200mbps plan but i am seeing only 140mbps max. Mostly it will be 100-120. What could be the issue?

Laptop : Dell g3 3500.
Lan : gigabit port, cat6 cable.
Speedtest.net, fast.com : 140mbps. Looks like capped at 140.

Wifi: 5ghz
Speedtest.net, fast.com : 100-120mbps.

You need to give more details. What did you test it with ? LAN , Wifi ? Which platform used for Speedtest ?

Yes you mostly have a capped connection. Can you do with LAN on speedtest.bsnl.co.in

If its capped what could be the solution? Tried raising complaint like 5-6 times but they just mark it as resolved by tech. everytime.

Even worst on bsnl speed test. Getting ~85 download and 100 upload with lan.

Then you need to call them. It is most probably a modem problem or they have misconfigured something at their end. But if they did the configuration wrong, you should be facing some low-speed test number on all platforms.

Chances of having a modem problem is less as this is the 2nd modem and 1st one had this same 140 speed cap issue. I ll try to contact bsnl ofc now. Thanks for all the help. Cheers!

I think there is bandwidth saturation problem at LCO/Exchange

Well... From next month... I ll downgrade my plan to 100mbps... Atleast then i ll get what i ll pay for.
