It is still going on, with ads for their ftth and mobile services. The popups have a timer I think because they cannot be closed until some seconds have elapsed.

I live in a village deep inside Western Ghats region of Karnataka. Slider ads, redirection to mail.bsnl.in website is very much in existence.

mtnl has been in injecting their own ads now and it hasn't stopped :\
