Well... if u feel so than I can't help it out... But for me the decision I took was the best... The way dishtv is running... it surely is destined to fail.. 100crore loss in this yr and I don't see anything changing in next 1 yr cos of this 1 year free scheme ... They surely have more channels (if u add up all dd junk and fm etc) ... But the bottom line for me is tht they don't have the quality... quantity can be increased anytime dear but u can't say same abt quality ... Moreover Tata Sky shows all those channels which I need so its more than enough for me... Compare STB quality, software quality, Installation, CC etc with tatasky and than we can decide ...


atleast they are in loss but still care for its subscribers and wants to increase channels:hysterical: what does tatasky do.. they have to pay the 9cr due to zee or else loose the channels .. tatasky does not have money to pay and Transponder to increase channels
are you talking about the same CC which said few days ago that matches are on Espn, star sports, neo sports, DD etc.

In addition to compression, quality of the original feed also determines the final quality. May be Tata Sky can divide the channels into two groups and compress the poor grade feeds (likd dd) to a greater extent and leave the good channels alone. This way they can include more channels, without additional transponders.

I remember reading that their uplinking facility has capacity upto 1000 channels and upto 4 satellites. I think they will offer more fare after getting convinced that Indian customers are willing to spend upto Rs. 2000 or more for specialist channels.

DD channel quality is much better than other channels. See DD Direct + or check it at satcodx site see their Mbps rate. Better than Neo and other craps.

DTH should be for all rather than for a few. So there needs to be lot of channels. If I don't want Neo or Star Cricket can I say they are all craps and I am happy that they were not in Tatasky for some time. Will you all accept it? And more over you are not the lone viewer of DTH and for your sake DTH wont give only 5 - 10 channels.

The thing is tht we got star cricket before the match so tht is more than enough for us ... But I wonder did u get neo sports when we were watching india-WI series ... Tatasky still have 12 transponder and can telecast 170-180 channels with compression ... But they atleast have the balls to fight to get some channels demanded by south indian subscribers .. it better then sitting idle and keep adding channels for the sake of numbers ... 100 cr lose this yr for dishtv shows the success of tatasky rather than investement made by dish tv ...

dear hitman, i had already compared it with dishtv long ago. to be exact the contrast of channels provided by Tatasky is far less compared to dishtv. so tatasky users will be increasing the contrast from the TV and feel that the clearity is good.
if u still have doubt put dishtv to the same TV with same color setting and check it.:yahoo: you will find it more brighter than tatasky. take dishtv new software and observe it clearly. dont think about tatasky or dishtv that time.

tatasky still have 12 TP. where dear ? dont dream. maybe you people are going to make and give them.

12 Transponders still remaining? dreaming? I think they have a total of 12 transponders. Dish tv lost some amount because they have improved their service it better. Tatasky still trying to get South Indian channels whereas Dish tv already got except Sun network channels. So don't compare both the services.

Dishtv used to run of 6-7 tps for 2 yrs... and Tata Sky started with 12 tps.. and talking abt clarity dishtv quality is not even 50% of wht tatasky provides... try checking on 29" tv... U don't have to change contrast etc... it rocks under every contrast and software of dishtv is less said the better... I think u guys forgot the upgrades of ur stb's which took place few months back.. So many of u had probs then... Some even have now... Tatasky's software on other hand is stunning ... easy to upgrade... more features.. The very best available in india ... Regarding my finance background ... I would like to remain silent.. U can keep guessing

i'm not sure what all this nonsense about 400 channels is, considering the context of this debate.It's simply about whether we get enough quality/premium channels, and enough options. All this gob about how you love whatever you buy, no regrets - seriously you aren't on tv.put simply, we should have more options. i.e. the option of subscribing to neo sports plus, if i chose to. the option of subscribing to goal tv if i chose to... and so on.as for delinking rights - neo and goal have 'em... and surely hbo channels are on the list of 55+ foreign channels that are meant to get em in the last quarter. Unfortunately, Tata Sky is inept at negotiating contracts, so i can't see them getting too many of these channels as options for their users.Do any of you have a problem with ala-carter channels for christs sake? Also, it would be refreshing to see a "I want the best product possible" atitude (our legitimate right as consumers), rather than some twisted pride in purchasing a second grade product.

I am beginning to hate DTH. I thought it would be great getting rid of your local cable mafia..but seems like a newly launched channel comes in the local cable first and then DTH. What is the need of so many DTH viewers calling up the service provider begging for channels to be added ? why so much drama about Neo sports,Star cricket ,channels on a rival platform ..etc ..etc? This despite TRAI interfering and trying to play an honest ( ?) role.

:hysterical: again changing your words like chamelion, just check your previous posts you said that tatasky still has 12 Transponders.

about the software upgrade , my STB is still old software one and i can still enjoy everything adding TP/Sat etc. also tatasky did not come up with any software upgrade till now, but in future they may come and that will change your mind as that time most of the STB will fail.
